Can someone tell me or give me a good direction to hard wire a scooter. What I mean to be specific is that the scooter I;m working on is p%^^%$ing me off because of some stupid alarm system I've already posted about the alarm. Well anyways what I think I'm going to have to do is hard wire the scooter. My main concern is that I just want to wire the thing in order for it to run. Then connect the headlights and have a tail light working thats it! There is nothing in the law that says other than that is all I need I can use hand signals if I have to all I want the thing to do is run thats it.then maybe I'll work on getting a switc for the signals later.

The problem is I have NO IDEA how the alarm is wired ... it could interrupt the brake circuit, the CDI, the starter switch or a combination... nearly every brand of scooter is different...

PJ, if you mean can you do your own wiring on a scooter , yes, of course you can. I stripped my naked Bashan down to the frame, threw out the entire wad of Chinese crap, and wired it from scratch. Unfortunately there wasn't an alarm involved . Sprocket is right as usual, there's a lot of alarms out there and they're wired differently. Some of them will start your scooter, some simply disable the ignition, some flash lights, and some even talk! Here's a couple examples of the more complex variety:

I would think however that a Znen 50 is not one of the more elaborate varieties, here's a less complex design:
Many of the wires simply jump into an existing circuit and you could safely cut them. For instance, you can see on the above diagrams that cutting the wires running to the turn signals would not interfere with the circuit at all. They simply send some juice to an already grounded circuit and cause the winkers to flash. The tricky part would be to determine if and how it's tied into the ignition system. On the last diagram you can see you also have to put a jumper on the alarm system itself.
If you can get us a picture of the alarm system and it's wires that would help a lot. In lieu of that you might try disconnecting wires one by one and take note of what happens. As long as you don't start jumping wires I don't think you can do any harm. Rich
