My wife's Bashan has been actin squirrely since we got back from the Dragon's Tail in North Carolina. It feels like you suddenly hit a little high spot in the road and it jukes to the side; it's worse on corners. It's not horrible but enough to make you a little edgy and not enjoy the ride. I noticed the motor mount bushings had cracks in them so I figured all that towing (a trip to Toledo too) trashed them. I replaced them this weekend but it's still acting hinky. While I was working on it I got the impression that maybe the frame has a twist in it. You know how it is with these scoots, not a figgin' straight line anywhere to get a reference point. I'm not sure on this, I could just be seeing things. Does anybody know a way to determine if the frame is bent? If it is, it's probably new scooter time. Rich

Bent frame?

You need to check the alignment of the front and rear wheel...
They could be out of 'track' and that makes for some very hairy situations. There was a GY6 scooter manual around that showed how to check for tracking...but I can't find it
As I recall you raise two long straight edges on blocks of 2x4 and see if the edges are parallel when the straight edges are places against the front and rear wheel on both sides...
Surely there is something on the net about it...even if it to check a motorcycle , it would be the same.
Tires OK? no flat spots or bulges?

I found one online with pictures, thanks for the suggestion. Things very well could have got out of track, I had to pull both bikes down pretty hard to keep them from moving. Sue's bike was of course more likely for something like that to happen, the CF's built like a damn tank. I guess if it's off I could use the pinch bolts to correct it. But then again I could tell her it's toast and get a new scooter out of it.

Cool method...
I straightened a motorcycle with a bent frame using a tree and a 'come-along'... it was much easier than I thought and it fixed the problem of rear wheel skip out...just do it very slowly...
It is much easier to dial it in carefully than go too far and have to come back the other way...
