On a 49cc Chinese scooter. What is a good rule of thumb for cleaning air filter. I live on the beach. And is cleaning it in warm water and dish detergent the norm. Advice is appreciated. Thanks Kelly

If it is a paper filter you replace it or blow out the dust with compressed air. If it is a foam filter you can wash it is dish soap and dry it in the sun.. then re-oil it...
UNIs and K&N have special cleaners and oils
I clean my stock foam filter every 2 months

Most stock foam filter are dry type. I use UNI foam oil on mine to improve the the filtering... just a light coat on each side...and let it dry...
