I would like to use some bicycle pegs as foot pegs on my skele-scoot. There are some very stubby mounting spots I tried, but the pegs bent down with just the weight of my hand. Now, my plan is to buy a threaded rod and run it through the frame where the old mounting spots were. I'm just wondering, can anyone can foresee any problems with this? The pic shows where I am planning to put the rod. Attachments:

Yep, Alley's right, that will work. In fact I had a foot bar across that part of the frame for quite a while and it worked just fine. However, that configuration pushed my feet back too far. This is what I have going on right now and it's also very stable. So since this works the other one should be even stronger. Rich

Well, a few things went awry as they always seem to. First, the hardware store didn't have the same thread as the pegs and I didn't want to buy a tap and die set, so I bought a slightly smaller diameter threaded rod, some washers, and nuts. The place I was planning to put the pegs turned out to be too much trouble; I would have had to cut off a couple mounting tabs and drill about 4 holes in the frame. I looked around on the frame and found a place just ~1 inch forwards from the place I had planned. It was a hollow triangular tube used for supporting the footrest area. I could look right through it and see daylight on the other side. I wouldn't have to cut off or drill a single thing! Eventually I got the rod through the tube. Now, since I had only bought a slightly smaller diameter rod, I had to grind off the threads inside the pegs to get them to slide on the rod and secure them with washers, nuts, and threadlock. All done! Attachments:
