Ok, If your gving it Throttle and it is POPPING and I mean it actually does sound like a POP. Then it is getting to MUCH FUEL. Did you change Jets or do anything to the CARB or Air Filter? Take along a Spark Plug socket and the Next time it POPs and dies on you shut it off right away and take the plug out and see how it looks. Let us know what the plug looks like WET, FOULED with oil or what, A picture of it would be great.
Could also be your Petcockfuel is being sucked in through the Vacumm Line. You may want to check it and see if the Vacumm line from the Petcock is wet with fuel. If that is the case you need a new Petcock. Or you can take the Fuel Hose off the carb put it in a Container and suck on the Vacumm line Fuel should flow and no fuel should come out of the Vacumm hose. Be carefull sucking on it because if it is leaking fuel through the Vacumm hose you will swallow GAS. Alleyoop

Ok, a bit more info. I have noticed that when it does the bogging down, dieing, I can get it started, & if I can really open it up it makes stalling, bogging & dieing go away

I have the failed plug wire coming & the cdi. I am starting with the plug write as I know it's bad. Got the sound of back during still. That doesn't go away. It's always there.

Ok, I've received spark plug wire, & start/cutoff combo today. I'm installing tomorrow. Hopefully that fixes problem of sputtering bogging down, etc... Wish me luck.

I had a bad coil/plug wire do exactly that, bog until I opened the throttle up. It was very frustrating because I thought it was fuel related. I swapped a coil out as a last result and it started running perfect. If that doesn't fix it however let us know and we'll start chasing some other things. Rich

Well, I installed, or tried to install new starter/fuel cutoff switch, right hand switch with mirror attachment first. It was wrong, only had 3 wires. I tried in vain to switch old guts to new housing, won't start. Got new ones coming. Hopefully by friday. I installed spark plug wire. I'm installing spark plug, soon, & cdi I just got in if it's correct one. It probably isn't. Lol once I have new switch installed I'll report process or lack of it.

Good for you, hang in there, these things take some time. I'm sorry, I'm confused. When you told me you were getting a fuel cutoff switch I thought you were talking about the vac switch in the fuel system commonly found on your type of scooter. Can you tell us more about that switch that you're trying to install and what it does?Good attitude, that's what you have to do with these things. And then when they're fixed you can REALLY laugh! I broke this kind, it has 4 wires coming in, the mirror connects to it, the emergency fuel cut off is there & the starter button is too

I think what he meant by the Fuel Cutoff switch is the KILL SWITCH on the right side grip OR he could be talking about the throttle cable. He did confuse the crap out of me as well but then I realized that he is probably calling the KILL SWITCH a Fuel Cutoff OR maybe the Throttle Cable?? I have never seen or heard of a Fuel Cutoff Switch on the Grip handle UNLESS of course you made one just like a manual choke. Alleyoop
