Dr. Jeff, you are the MAN! He's exactly right folks, I just downloaded everything and it works perfect. You can still see our banner supporters with this program but you can't see the Google ads. Here's what you do, go to Mozilla and make sure you have the latest version of their browser. Then, with that browser go to Ad Block Plus and install their program. It's easy as can be and they walk you right through it. Thanks Dr. Jeff! Rich

10 years ago looking to up grade win98 I got on line and read the user license agreement from micro soft for XP, I could not buy into their bull. Instead of wasting money to go with microsoft I bought a cheap cd with a copy of LINUX on it. I am going on ten years this fall microsoft free. ten years with out a virus! john

well I'm using ubuntu on all my machines except my laptop only because I've got to keep one with windows cause of school. I'm working on my masters in computer science and yes I can honestly say that microsnott has caused more trouble than what its work. Jct I was wondering do you build computers for a living or just an amateur like myself??? how ever you spell it

I have built 2 so far. In 2001 I had intended to get an upgrade for win98 and stick the hard drive in a new computer I put together/ I read the ula and was no way I would be happy with microshaft owning my computer. I installed red hat, then later went to mandrake/ In the 9 years of that computer I pretty well rebuilt it a few times 1 piece at a time. Last summer I decided that it was time for the mother bd to take a crap so I built a totally new one and sent the old one to the dump.. I am using pclinux on the new one but am not real happy with their latest version. I have pc linux with earlier version on laptop and my net book has ubuntu on it only because it was the first one that worked, I hate it as the developer must have been hung upside down when designing the desktop and also left handed! but it does work! With all the places that sell parts and the how to's on line it would be hard to not want to build one. some will even assemble your parts bought from them and test for a small fee. for some one who wants to try linux my recomendations would be either a bare min from parts or else a user with a brand new hard drive, and skip the dual boot for windows as it makes it way more complicated than nesc. first timers buy a cd for a recomended linux distro and there are hundreds, skip the download as burning an iso is a pain in windows if you have never done it. almost all linux distro's are free to download too. a cd will cost maybe $5 and once you get it running it will have a cd program that is way better suited to down load more linux and burn. john
(an old slow pc is not a viable candidate for the latest linux, send that old one to dump. a 2000mhz or better and one that is relativity new so that you can use all the latest accessories)
