Good day people!

I could use some help with a coil issue, at this point I'm just trying to get this scooter running smoothly and prep it for sale next summer. I refuse to even attempt to ride it any where. So here's the problem...




The brown wire connects to the exposed plug and has power going thru it. The yellow at the bottom does not have power going thru it. The green wire connects to the frame.

Now I've been told that this coil....



That I bought but never used will work. So I take the brown wire and connect it to the plug and then connect the yellow and green wires to the frame? Is that how this works?

The bike keeps stalling after it gets warm but will restart after a short period.

Are you sure we're talking about the the same thing? This is is a coil:

A yellow/black wire from the CDI hooks on to one pole and the other is a green ground. The long wire plugs into the spark plug. You sure we're on the same page? Rich

NO, that coil will NOT WORK, that scoot has a coil that has a resistor inside. One is a Ground one is a 12v and the other is the TRIGGER.

Yeah that's the coil on this bike, one end leads to the spark plug so I'm pretty sure it's a coil. Anyway I'll just order another one from BMS. Anybody want to buy the orange one $10 bucks and it's never been used.

What scoot is that off of anywhos? I have been googling trying to help for the 3 wire Coil with no hits. I know they exist but are hard to find.

Good one, droll.....very droll. Yep, I'd say if the one end plugged into the plug it's probably a coil. Now other than Alley trying to help the guy out I haven't seen anybody get off their arse and make an effort other than me showing what I don't know. Everybody too busy to help another guy out?!

Stalls after it gets warm, then starts when it cools down, hm, sounds like there's some metal that expands with heat and changes the dynamics of combustion.

Since the valves have already been adjusted, it couldn't be the exhaust valve, could it?

I concentrated on the Coil because it is an Odd Ball Coil. I have seen it before some other fellow had a Go-Kart with one of those on and he had a hard time finding one.

But concerning the STALLING and HARD STARTS OF HOT:
YES, those are Classic Symptoms or tight Valves adjust your valves Top Intake to .004" and Bottom Exhaust Valve to .005" and that should help that situation.

I appreciate any and all help but I had put zero miles on it after adjusting the valves a few months ago. Now there's the possibility that I flubbed the adjustment but when I rode it there were no degraded performance issues. It wasn't until after I got off the freeway and slowed for traffic that the problems started. The tow truck driver and a coworker said its the coil. When I did get it started I could rev it on the center stand but it stall pretty quick when I tried to get going. Seems to me like if I could have immediately gotten on the freeway then it would have kept going but I was in traffic. Is there a way to test it like a coli found in cars?

Look at these Coils I think one of them will work. There are couple with Two connectors and the ground mount.

Bad CDI or the connection to it. I gather you either washed it with a hose or got caught in the rain. Chinese scooters have easily crudded plugs at best.
