Hello everyone. Just bought a 2005 Kymco People 50 with 12000+ miles on it. Looks good and runs smooth and strong. The only negative thing is that it is smoking white and stinky smoke. Please make suggestion on the cause and how to fix it. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Man, I had to respond to that topic! I pictured 50 Kymco people standing around smoking and being stinky. But now I see what you mean! Well first of all, is it the two or four stroke? That will make a big difference. If it's running strong I doubt there's a heck of a lot wrong. How's your mileage? White smoke can mean unburnt gas but then again it coulkd be normal for that bike. So 2T or 4T? That's the question. Rich

it's 2t with 12000+ miles on it. It's not normal to smoke like that. I've ridden a new people 50 and its' exhaust was odorless. How do I check if it is indeed unburned gas? Thank you!

It's billowy white and actually smells like gas. I'm not real familiar with 2Ts but I'm pretty sure that thing has an oil injector. If it's clogged your getting all gas and no oil, that spells disaster. Also check your plug and make sure it's not toast. One more thing, here's the owner's manual to that bike. I would look really carefully at the pollution control system at the end of the manual, it looks like a likely culprit for lots of unburned gas and oil. Rich
