Hey guys. I had posted a few pics of my zx in the pic section, i will place several in htis thread... IF this is where it belongs.. I have a few questions for you guys.... Does anybody "build" or do you just upgrade? I am looking at a kit from carlos and jiangwayne... Looking at either a 48mm kit or the 50mm kit with a 44mm crank.(instead of "72cc", for an extra $20-25 i can go up to the "80cc"(4cc from the 50 kit...4cc from the crank for $20 sounds real good to me... ;D Has anyone here used either kit? I have a L.V ZX exhaust that kindof worries me also. This pipe SHOULD be ok up to 90cc but IDK.. Can i get your input on this post?....48?...50 with a 44 crank? Input on either kit? pipe? Thanks guys for any input/advice you may share with me.

Here is a pic of the intake tract porting i needed to do on the zx with the last build i done. WHICH BTW, was my very 1st build.. ;D Here is the finished product.. This piece here is a 7" extension that i had made but havent been able to ever install. With this build i plan on FINALLY getting my 7" stretch. A pic of the boost port work that i did here. It was a big difference from the oem port. Here is a few pics .....AGAIN.... of my lil baby. As you can see in the pics i had the seat redone with a lil red thrown in. She has alot of visual mods compared to the oem for sure. I do have led accent lights throughout(red of course), Polished/vented cvt cover, Black paint. I also installed a '08 kymco S9 wheels/brakes, complete suspension upgrade. Removed the "mud flap", removed bulky turn signals(wired for euro's). Installed handgrips, TTO tach.. I know i'm not listing all.. ;D There does seem to be a low amount of "kymco" scoots here.(but of course, there isn't alot of them unless your @ the kymcoforum... ;D) Even tho, i do hope to get your valuble input on this project of mine. Is there any "gear" ppl here?.. I have a set of secondary gears to install also but IDK WHAT i should really shoot for. I have a 10.5:1 ratio on the wheel/clutch bell ATM(have a set of 15/42?). I had read some time ago that a 8.5:1 would be ideal. Lord knows i haven't mastered this tuning stage at all yet. Thanks for looking at this thread guys. ;D

Well a 15/42 gear sets gives you a 2.80 ratio. What is your current gears tooth count?
I went from 13/40=3.08 ratio to 16/37=2.31 ratio Alleyoop

I may be able to text a friend on the coast to see if he happens to remember the count. I haven't ever removed the cover to even see. I had wanted to tho cause i have a honda 125 2t engine that has a 6:1 wheel/bell ratio and it's rummered that the gears MAY swap, but of course i haven't went to work on it to see.

Hey guys.. I was told the oem tooth count is input shaft is 13t, output shaft is 45t Intermittant is at 13t..40t.. The set of secondary gears i have is 15/42.... Am i wrong in thinking that each gear swap(primary and secondary) should yield about 4mph for each?

Yes that is true, for every TOOTH 1 ADDed to the Short Shaft AND 1 TOOTH LESS on the Big Gear it should shield about 4mph on the top end. But the other thing you also must have is enough POWER to pull the taller gears. If you do not have the power and torque it will be slow getting up to speed and take forever to reach top end. In other words you can run out of open road to reach top end. Sort of like when they try for the fastest Speeds on the Salt Lakes. Alleyoop
