when i gas the throttle it wants to die just put on a new carb and spark plug and the kick start doesnt seem to want to work.. would like some tips for fixing the problem pl,ease help thank you...

Did you adjust the Carbs Fuel Ratio Mixture? All it is, is the Air to Fuel mixture is not right.
Do you know how to adjust the carb?

ive made some adjustments to the throttle and a screw on the bottom left side of the carb which i assume is the jet adjustment

Ok what you are getting is called BOGGING it is either to MUCH AIR AND NOT ENOUGH FUEL or NOT ENOUGH AIR AND TO MUCH FUEL.

You either have a AIR LEAK or your carb is not adjusted correctly.

So first thing is make sure the INTAKE MANIFOLD has no cracks the CLAMP holding the Carb to the INTAKE MANIFOLD is tight as well as the CLAMP HOLDING THE AIR FILTER is tight. Check if the AIR FILTR TUBEING has no rips or your Air Box has no open holes were a hose would go on.

If all that is good then try adjusting your carb like this:

ADJUSTING YOUR FUEL RATIO SCREW:

FOLLOW THIS PROCEDURE, take your time DO NOT Be turning the SCREW fast and wait in between turns otherwise you will be off.

VERY IMPORTANT: Warm Up the SCOOT for at least 5 minutes at IDLE.

YOU WANT THE HIGHEST IDLE OUT OF THE FUEL RATIO SCREW YOU CAN GET, TAKE YOUR TIME.

ADJUST YOUR FUEL RATIO:

1. Turn the Fuel Ratio Screw Counter Clockwise 1/4 and wait 10-15 seconds to allow the engine to catch up with the new setting.

** IF ON THE FIRST TURN IT DOES NOTHING OR IDLE GOES DOWN- GO to 2.*** Otherwise GO to a. below.

a. If the IDLE GOES up repeat 1.
b. If the IDLE does not go up or it does nothing turn the Fuel Ratio Screw 1/8 Clockwise that should be the highest IDLE you can get out of the Fuel Ratio Screw-- GO to FINISH UP.

2. Turn the Screw Back 1/4 and GO to 3..

3. Turn the Fuel Ratio Screw Clockwise 1/4 and wait 10-15 seconds to allow the engine to catch up with the new setting.

** IF ON THE FIRST TURN IT DOES NOTHING YOUR PILOT JET AND OR PASSAGES ARE CLOGGED*** GO to CLEAN CARB*** Otherwise GO to a. below.

a. If the IDLE GOES up repeat 3.
b. If the IDLE does not go up or it does nothing turn the Fuel Ratio Screw 1/8 Counter Clockwise that should be the highest IDLE you can get out of the Fuel Ratio Screw-- GO to FINISH UP.

FINISH UP:
SET IDLE USING IDLE SPEED SCREW:
USING the IDLE SPEED SCREW set the Idle to 1500-1800 where it IDLES the smoothest AND the REAR WHEEL IS NOT Spinning-

TEST YOUR ADJUSTMENT:
Now while on the Center Stand GIVE THE THROTTLE a GOOD QUICK TWIST and Let go,
It should REV UP with with a nice VROOOOOOOOOM with no Bogging or Hesitation and Come back down to where you set your Idle.
DONE RIDE SAFE.

CLEAN CARB:
Take Carb Bowl off and clean Pilot Jet and Pilot Jet Passage and Main Jet and Passage.
Then come back and repeat this procedure.

If I could add something to a point Alley touched on, sometimes when folks change carbs they put in a new or different air filter. If it's higher flow it's going to bog. Do you mean your kickstart won't start the engine because it's now hard to start, or the mechanism isn't working right? Rich

the mechanism for the kick start is hard to start now..but can start it after 10 kicks or so...the scooter runs for a short while then dies when i try to give it gas... thanks for the carb diagrams i will continue making adjustments...

Ok, DO THIS FIRST BEFORE you start it:
TURN THE FUEL RATIO SCREW CLOCKWISE until it stops do not force it just until it stops.
BUT COUNT the number of turns it took for it to CLOSE. Then Turn it COUNTER CLOCKWISE
2 1/2 turns and start it and let it GET WARM for 5 minutes.

Then you can adjust your Fuel Mixture because now the ENRICHER(CHOKE) should have cut off the EXTRA FUEL for COLD starts.

Then Turn it CLOCKWISE 1/4 and listen IF THE IDLE GOES UP OR DOWN.
A. IF it goes UP your going in the right direction , IF it goes DOWN your going in the wrong direction.

All your looking for is which way you get the HIGHEST IDLE and where that point is.

i got it to idle at1000 rpm's for about 10 mins but when you throtle it it goes then wants to di and that setting was at about 3 1/2 revolutions counterclockwise on the jet valve for air fuel mixture flow..

i dont think the kick start is working properly i can hear a scraping of somesort when it is started bashan...this scooter is a 2010 bashan dash 50...

Ok, seems like your idle is low. After you start it let it IDLE DO NOT TWIST the throttle. TURN THE IDLE SPEED SCREW a LITTLE may 1/16 or 1/8 of an inch CLOCKWISE, The Idle should go up pretty good. You want it to idle around 1500-1800 rpms.

i keep trying over and over but im worried that the kick start mechanism is fighting the motor causing it to die is that possible at all??

some times the drive pully gets stuck open

My 2006 150CA Baron starts and then dies aswell . I put a new carb ,new spark plug and coil, cgi box , and new oil. If I hold the throttle back and start it ,it stays on but once I let go it dies. Please help me out anyone
