Hey Ninjabilly, Wll is VERY excitied about finding a ham buddy on the forum. He just joined a club in Idaho and is going to be very active in it as the tech go to guy. He's not ignoring you, he's just getting a motorcycle endorsement at the DMV right now, I'm sure he will get back to you soon. Rich

I like my Ham smoked with 25 watts. I not into it as much as when I started, and not have a lot of money to have a lot of fancy equipment. I just have an old Radio Shack HTX-202 (2-meter handheld) and a 25 watt amp to get on out, if I on top of a good hill. Heck you all get going and I may try to get mine up and running again. I used to be involved with the Weather Net in Arkansas and had taken courses they offered for spotting Tornadoes and stuff, been a long time. When the sunspot activity going right (which may be around now?) be fun to try to talk to Ninjabilly across the Atlantic! But, be aware I just have a 2-meter. I have some different antenna plans for a Yagi and would like it well tuned to a narrow frequency to see how far I could get. I may try digging mine out and see if everything still work. But, my motivation around the Holidays can get limited to Canadian Blends and Pecan Pies.

I'd like to get my Ham license just so I can legally listen to my scanner in my car. Been into scanning for a while, and use a Uniden BCD396XT.
I've used it for storm spotting too, saw my first tornado last summer.
