Sorry guys after 40 years in business my devious mind has been bothered by all the free meals offered to vets. Devious mind is saying whats a great way to juce up a slow Monday evening for the restaurant, how about offer a free meal to one of the couple and charge for the other. Lets see if there are 200 extra people one that eats free one that pays thats 100 times roughly 12 bucks for each wife or another $1200 bucks for each restaurant. Now multiply that times the real number, I see it as a cash boom for a slow night! Lets see if it is continued next year. I mentioned this to Mrs. N last night and she exclaimed, " THat thought never crossed my mind"! Maby Im too old or too cautious but with what the wives went through when we were OC they deserve a break too.

I enjoyed all my freebies. I went with fellow Vets so it didn't cost up nada.

I would love to see every restaurant in the country offer free meals to vets on veterans day! It's the least they can do to show their appreciation for the service and sacrifices.
I'm not a veteran, though. Way back in 1958 I was designated 4-F, after attempting to enlist in the Army and the Navy. Twice for the Army and three times for the Navy. Had just graduated from high school and there were 4 of us fellows enlisted at the same time. I practically begged to be inducted!
Had three uncles that served in WWII, only one survived. One killed in France during the invasion, one killed in the Philippines. Had a younger brother that served in Nam.

Agreed, we should remind all the restaurants that they need to thank us for their menu's being printed in English and not German, Russian or Chinese.

My wife and I were in a restaurant having supper and a young soldier with his wife and a baby came in and sat in the next booth. I myself am a Disabled Vietnam Vet and I called the waiter over that was serving them and told him to put his tab on my bill. After dinner the waiter told him that I had picked up the tab. He came over and thanked my wife and I, he was being shipped overseas so I told him to come back to his lovely wife and child safe and sound. Alleyoop
