That 'solar' scooter wasn't built that way, it's a factory electric scoot with the panels (folding, of course) attached. If I ever manage to get the money/time I plan to do something similar, but I want a faster bike than most electrics tend to be.
I read an article recently about the British 'bike' corps working in the Mid East. Quads, not bikes (despite the name) but that airborne cushman looks to be a ww2 version of the same thing. The paratroops need a way to get around after they hit the ground.
