had gy6luver been a scooterist things would more than likely turned out differently. by his own admission he does not even have a drivers license endorsement for motorcycle. I was behind him at the start untill it was apparent he was trying to destroy the scooter and damage the image of the typical person who should purchase a chinese scooter. I too thought he started out with a set of big balls but as it turns out it was only lack of smarts. listening to his blog caps off all of it from thanking the cats belonging to the family he mooched off, to a lady at the flop house for teaching him about women. his parents must be proud. bet they got his bedroom rented by now too! grandpa wasn't even going to let him sleep inside at first!

Yup...'a lack of smarts'...hopefully gy6luver will fade into history... I'd like to think so but I have a feeling his stench will be with us for awhile. I'd be willing to bet he'll get some kind of attention for getting to Florida on the thing and he'll use it as a springboard for his rant that Chinese scooters are useless. You don't think a low life like him will accept the blame for his failure, do you?

I have had 2 chinese scooters. 2010 and now a 2011. New. About $1,000 from the dealership and I had problems with both of them right away starting at about 198 miles. It seems the Vespas and better ones are about $4,000+ and if im going to spend that much I may as well get a motorcyle. In my opinion, if you are going to buy a Chinese scooter, either have a friend that is a mechanic that knows about scooters OR be willing to buy tools and LEARN to diagnose and fix your scooter yourself if you don't want to pay more getting it fixed than you paid for the scooter itself. This website has been a MAJOR help with helping me with all my CCS ( cheap Chinese scooter) issues. I finally got mine fixed and running well yesterday. If a CCS is all you can afford, make sure you can invest an extra $100 or so for tools and learn patience ( as ive had to )

One persons junk is another persons treasure. Ride it, whatever it may be, within its design limitations, do a good pdi, even on a used one, and keep up with normal routine maintenance and it should last a long time.

hi
i bought my "Chrissy" off of craigslist for $500 she had 61 miles on her.
she now has 6500 had a few problems at 1st with wiring and air flow and a few other small probs. but after getting those bugs worked out she has always run like a champ. starts 1st push ALWAYS runs like a dream
best $500 i ever spent
everything in life is a crap shoot when buying a car, a scoot, a purse, finding a good Vet sometimes u get lucky---some times u don't
when hub's was still alive we bought a new BMW worse freaking $ we ever spent. parts and labor costs through the roof didn't run the same 3 days in a row and that's the mighty bmw
SO IF U ASK ME china scoots are fine as long as u take care of 'em just my $.02

the china scoots may need a tad more loving tender care but for the money it is a no brainer. I would much rather work on a chinese scooter than a jap. one. I have 2 japs and one chinese. for the most part the chinese are much simpler and have a much larger selection of parts. the parts for a jap scooter cost way way more and there is very little selection of where to get them. If I order I belt for each of my scooters I will have the chinese belt in 2 days, the last time I got a belt for my majesty it was 2 weeks.
you are absolutely right: "SO IF U ASK ME china scoots are fine as long as u take care of 'em just my $.02"

My IceBear trike is proving to be a handful. I received it off the back of a truck in mid October. So far I've gotten to ride it 68 miles. Sure hope 2012 brings better luck.

Great question. I get this question all the time. I would say yes, and no. The quality is lower.... but then again it all comes down to what you have to spend for a scooter. Most of the time when your out shopping for a scooter. Most scooter dealers will offer you a warranty on the scooter. Basically this warranty covers the engine parts only (for that specific time frame). After that your on your own buddy! And if you haven't already, most of the time your going to get hassled if your scooter was a lemon or problem scooter. And the dealer know he is going to have to spend lots of money repairing it. Not all dealers are bad, don't get me wrong (just a bad investment). Many of them have bad customer service reps with negative attitudes when answering the phone after you've made your purchase. When you looking to buy a Chinese scooter, try to get the best price. This way you can forget about the warranty and use that extra money to customize or upgrade your scooter engine and get the best performance possible. Also, keep in mind that most of these scooters are assemble by factories that purchase there parts from other factories that produce specific engine parts or body parts for that model. Remember, that the model or brand name is established by the manufacture in China or scooter distributors here in the US. Again, your best bet is to get a good price on a scooter, and use that extra money to invest (or upgrade) on quality engine parts, and or chrome body parts (if your looking to customize it). Good luck, Melazza Attachments:

I have personnaly met JIM when I took my trike up to his place to have the engine bored out.
Got to tell you guys this, JIM if you read this, this is an endearment. I walked into his shop and there is this guy tall lanky, beard and one of those pull down caps you know the ones that are made out of wool or something they stretch and can go over your ears and crap and long hair.
Well the FIRST THING THAT CAME TO MY mind when I saw him was A 1960s HIPPIE I crap you not. He is the nicest person you ever want to meet will talk your ear off and is cool as crap. Alleyoop
