I haven't gotten back into the latch problem yet. First I have to find the nut that went into the engine area, adjust the valves, try to get it running, adjust the A/F screw and idle screw, then get it working for a little while (AGAIN) before fastening the seat in good allignment and then I can work on the latch. I was ready to work on it before but s**t hit the fan with the scooter again all too soon and yes a very bad nut! its going to get a stern talking to if/when I find it! LOL

OK lets think back, when it LAST was running you went for a ride and it started to act up on you. Did it just stop on you or just wanting to die and stuff and then when I said it is your valves that is when you found the nut was missing.
If so it must be at the bottom of the case and not on the chain and Crank Sprocket which is good. Alleyoop

yes i do have the worst luck ever. ya last time it was running and i was driving it it was close to dieing or would die if i took my hand all the way off the throttle at a stop sign or red light so you said maybe it was the valves.
i adjusted the valves. went to test drive it and it sounded like it was tapping (drove it about 1/3 of a block out and 1/3 block back) took off the cover thinking i needed to tighten them up more and thats when i saw the nut was gone. have not tried to start it since. so far all ive done is an oil change, searched around w a magnet, looked under the scooter and down below to any place it could have fallen off, nothing. I have the fuel adjust screw and a bolt that fits it ready to go. I'm going to put that on next time i take the cover off the scooter and also look for the oil drain screw on the left side too. (Will see if I find a nut around there, im not thinking I will but ill look) I know once I get the valves adjusted again ( i bought the correct wrench for that today) and adjust the a/f and ratio screw its gonna be russian roulette w driving it.
Worst case senario, im driving it and the nut rattles around and hits something that I def dont want it to hit will I hear a clang? or will I loose power? what should I look out for to know s**t hit the fan w the nut?

Sorry about posting to the wrong thread...
The nut will just bounce around inside the engine...might get stuck somewhere like an oil passage.. you know it could still be in the head as well, stuck in a valve spring...

Got it, the NUT came off AFTER you adjusted the Valves due to dieing out as you slowed down to a stop. When you go back in under the valves check the springs and see if HOPEFULLY it is stuck in between a spring. Alleyoop

I looked all in through the valve adjust area with a flashlight and didn't see anything but I will check again. I'll try turning the wheel a little too and see if anything shows up ( flashlight in hand) I realized it came off because the adjustable wrench wasn't the right wrench to turn that nut. I should have used the adjustable on the screw and that other kind of wrench i pictured before on the nut. I bought that now ;P I guess i didnt get it tight enough trying to turn it and also not get it in the way of the plyers i was holding the fuel adjustment screw with. propper tools makes a difference.
