Hello,
I am new to scooters. I just purchased a used Roketa MC-54-250B. It has 2200 miles on it. I want get in cleaned up and make sure its running as good as it can. I was told I should do a PDI and I would like to. It sounds like that would be a great to get to know it and replace anything that might need to be.
I was wondering if anyone lives in the Phoenix, AZ area and would be willing to help me out. I am not a motor guy but willing to learn and get dirty.

Usually forums are a disappointing way to make local contacts. The chances of somebody from the Phoenix area reading this and responding are pretty slim. You might try Craigslist to find a local scooter club for those types of contacts. Scooter Doc has four PDIs you can peruse through. The main things with a PDI is to familiarize yourself with the body plastic, check all the fluids, check the wiring, and check the vac/gas lines. You could start a thread here in the 250 section and post pictures as you go along. There would be lots of guys willing to stick their noses in and "help". Rich

Thanks. I did find a local club. Waiting on getting membership approved. They use Meetup.
I checked out several of the PDI and seems pretty easy but not a motor guy. Now if need computer fixed/built/setup or networking I am your guy. I am a network engineer by trade.

Oddly enough the engineers on the forum, regardless of their specialty, seem to benefit from the spatial concepts required for engineering when working on scooters. Also, the Chinese engineering methods are often a hoot for everyone, but they somehow seem to make things work. Now if your scooter had an ECU you might feel more comfortable working on it. Rich
