That 31,000 doesn't reflect the Chinese. They're not members of MIC. Kymco might not even be a member, along with SYM. That being said, scooters may have higher numbers but the real result is probably untraceable.

I don't believe they would like to admit that the Chinese or even Taiwan counts at all. It would be funny if the China/Taiwan sales equaled or exceeded the mainstream bikes! john

A final 2011 sales tally should improve. The MIC tabulates monthly sales data by reports from its member manufacturers: BMW, Can-Am, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, the Piaggio Group, Victory, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha. A later estimate of total year sales is published in a statistical annual, which accounts for non-reporting manufacturers.
