Just when I assumed the red chinese one was ok, I went to start it and it was whistling in the area of the gasket. Not loud but noticeable.
Will pull the pipe tomorrow to see for sure. Was too good a day for yard work to crawl under a scooter to loosen up the pipe. Looks like I got a bunch of stuff to order up. got to get some of them clips, like a speed nut, too. I Probably should get a new tire for the riva, I picked up a nail and plugged it and am not happy riding a repaired tire. john

The last time I replaced an exhaust gasket I got a crush type from Auto-weinie down the street. Then I used a little red RTV to hold it up in there until I could get the header bolted on. It worked great and stayed firmly in the recess giving me some time to button things up. I think they last a lot longer too.
I use speed nuts from Lowes for the body panels. They're a little pricy but last forever if you don't crank them down too hard. I just match up the pitch on the package with screws from the same automotive section but you can use regular metal hardware screws. Rich

I tried hard ware store speed nuts and they are a tad too big, a majesty also uses the same size and am missing a few there too.
