The only thing I have not completed on mine is the rear wheel hubs at the bolt ons. That light sleeve and the china bolts just are not holding up. Gonna match a bolt to the roller bearings and do away with the soft metal sleeve. Will be no more play in the wheels than Mike sounds like an excellent opportunity for an write up to share the knowledge. Aslo I saw your post on the chain. How do I know I need to adjust the chain ?

Okay here we go. Ice Bear sent me an advanced copy of an excel sheet of some of the changes that were made to the Magnums. This information is not on their web site yet but, gives some info and pictures of what is going on. The pictures are not the greatest, they were taken off an excell spreadsheet and converter to a jpeg. Better than nothing LOL. The reasoning is Ice Bear's not mine, except where noted. Suspension 2011: Independent Suspension 2012: Solid Axle Independent suspension might cause the rear bridge to loosen. New suspension system increases the stability. 2011 2012 My comments, where the independent rear suspension was an improvement over the original in 2010, they didn't change the swing arm like they did on this mod ( next set of pictures). From what I can see, there is an additional plate for the rear fender to mount too, that was there on the independent but, was not there on the 2010 models. You will also see the rear swing arm has been completely changed. Rear Swing Arm 2011: Single bracket swing arm 25012: Dual bracket swing arm The Dual bracket swing arm design allows 2 additional cushions. One between the rear swing arm and the main frame; the other between the rear swing arm and the engine. Cushion between swing arm & main frame Cushion between swing arm & engine ---1 Cushion between swing arm & engine---2 My comments: With the addition of the "cushions" I would think that engine to frame vibration will be decreased as well as providing a more solid mounting system for the engine. Exhaust System 2011: Single Exhaust System 2012: Dual Exhaust System Reduce the possibility of exhaust breaking issue. Increase weight balance and stability. 2011 2012 My Comments: I like the look of the dual exhaust mufflers and the way they are mounted. Looks better than that ugly muffler they used before. Hopefully the chrome is better than some of the chrome mufflers I have seen. This style system would allow changing the mufflers to a Harley Style Shortie muffler like what was used on a customers Road Warrior that I did a post on earlier. I also feel the exhaust will move faster out of the engine which will help with how the motor breathes. Balancer 2011: No balancer 2012: Balancer inside the frame Resolve issue of front end wobbling. My comments: They call it a balancer but more like a steering damper that the "big" trikes use to stop "tank Slap". Honda Gold Wing Trikes had a problem with this at around 30MPH. Some of the Harley Trikes had this also especially with extended or raked front ends. Loose triple tree bearings can also cause this. I think this is a great mod since any rear wobble will be felt in the handle bars and this should eliminate that. The tank slap was more so in the 2010s than in the 2011s. Side Panel 2011: No side cover 2012: Add side cover Cosmetic change 2011 2012 My Comments: Ice Bear calls this a cosmetic change but, by extending the side panels like this, it will also add more support to the sides. This should help with side cracks. As I said in the beginning, this is advanced information that has not been finalized or published on their site yet. It was sent to me for my comments and there may be more to come. If so I will post it. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

Awesome, good changes they did and will help with vibration and snit maybe I will sell mine and get me a 300. Good that they went back to a solid axle simpler and much easier to maintain. I am personally familiar with them. Love those mufflers after they blew out I would put two on these Supertrapp jobs on. But I would get a MAROON one not a PU-KEY SILVER like MAGOO has Alleyoop

Silly Rabbit... You couldn't handle a 300 and your right a cotton tail would look like heck on one. I like the idea, that is after all the problems I have with my rear on my Magnum, of the straight axle and the frame changes and motor mounts. Sure wish they would offer a good deal for a rear change to us with the older models
Magoo - I want that axle for mine and I want it NOW-WW....,

Update:
I got a call from one of my customers yesterday that just got his new modded 2012 Magnum. He is quite happy! He ordered it with the PDI done ( By Ice Bear Ca.) Arrived with no issues or shipping damage. Once they got it off the truck and out of the custom made crate, it fired right up. The only thing he has to do is install the mirrors, Ice Bear learned the hard way not to install the mirrors for shipping.
He told me that it ran down the road very smoothly and did not notice any vibration except he does have a bit of a trunk rattle. He said that the steering felt great and did not notice any "tank slap" at all, even from a dead stop. He did not ride it too much due to the fact he needs to get it registered first.
I do have one coming from the next shipment in September, so I will be able to see first hand.
More info as it becomes available.

Got an email from customer #2 on the new Magnum
"The trikes beautiful, it started right up (after an infusion of gas) and ran quietly without vibration. Impressive. Trying it out down the street went well, felt comfortable. The vibration noise you noted in your blog from the other customer who had just gotten his, I believe comes from the new "skirt" pieces added to the 2012 models. I observed and heard their rattle as the motor's rpm increased. There was no "tank slap" noted, however. Cornering, as I already knew, was a little hard. All in all, in the short run, I'm very pleased. Thank You."

Looks like the changes and the PDI from CA has made some difference. Let's get some miles on them and get some of the owners to report on the rear sections. I like some of the changes that I have seen on some of them, hyave not yet seen a new one. So far so good...

I have another customer that wants a Magnum and wants it shipped to me for PDI and pick it up here. The next shipment isn't due CA until Sept. I can't wait to see it myself. Reports look good all the way around. I have a 2010 here that I will be able to see and compare all the changes that have been done since IB first introduced the Magnum. It is Serial number 39 off the assembly line. Also white which IB doesn't make anymore. Jim/Owner Rapid Repair

White is nice.... If I ever have mine painted Honda Yellow I will post pictures, still have a lot of changes to make yet than deck repairs and over layed with Rino and off to the paint shop. When you do get Tornado in some time look at it and your 2010 Magnum and see if the rear section could be easy put on the that Magnum as it is the same as mine. May want to order one and get off this gear box...
