Any one have any good ideas on how i can get a better take off preformance from my scotter its kind of slow on take offs this is what i have 2009 gy6 150 cc motor, dual ramp varitor with 12 gm rollers new belt standerd clutch with 15 37 rear gears 13 inch wheels any kinda of pick up would be a nice help thanks for any help travler 1

Look at the Dr. Pulley thread. I started it, so look for beachbum. It has a great write-up by Alleyoop about weights, variators, gears, etc. it will give you some good insight.

Some folks like to install a stiffer main spring on the clutch for those purposes. It holds the CVT in lower ratios longer so you get better pick up but then still allows the variator to fully engage high gear when the RPMs get high enough....or so the theory goes. Rich

try to go with some lighter roller weights. those 12g are for more top end. try a combination of 3 8grams and 3 10 grams or 3 9g and 3 12 grams. those are the most popular combinations i sell her at my store.

I take out 3 stock ones leave 3 wears rollers little faster but no bucks envolved

AWWWWWW snit well no wonder the thing is a DOG(HAHA), You do know the Gy6 150 makes it max horsepower at 7500 rpms. Get those RPMS up to OH around 7200 would be really nice. But since you have 12 g rollers in there already and it is only letting the rpms go to 6500 you need 11gs or 10.5 gram weights. Remember Rollers for every gram it will change your rpms by 500-600 so 11s will put you right around 7000 so 10s or 10.5 will do you just fine. Then when you find the right ROLLERS then you can change over to Dr. Pulley sliders 1 GRAM HEAVIER than the rollers you like and that will keep your rpms almost the same PLUS give you a little more top end due to the 1 gram heavier weights Plus the Sliders push out the Variator just a little more than a roller does.
Forgot to add the REDLINE starts at 8000 rpms so even running 7500 you will be fine. Alleyoop

Lol mines no dog runs great with muffler, jet, air filter,cdi this was not my thread lol he never posted wot rpm i did lol no worries

Well a little higher about 7100 i really havnt paid any att to wot rpm im going to go with sliders soon im seeing how long 3 rollers last lol

Well that is much better 600 more rpms running around 7000 rpms the motor is just purring, it doesn't really start to scream until you get over 7500, I used to run 7800 without the BBK and that was with 11g Sliders. Back in 2009 when I got It, it had 10g rollers and the sucker would run 8200 at 50 mph the sucker was screaming. Alleyoop
