About all that's got in common with scooters is the twist and go transmission! Not a scooter in my book!

Get used to it John. If they're going to entice aging baby boomers off their Harleys they have to make them look more like bikes and less like Vespas. The new Honda 700s with DCT will be the real acid test.

I think if I was a bit younger I would build my self an ideal scooter. Air cooled, flat floor, a tub for the rear body that lifts off or hinges off, enough displacement that it could cruise at highway speeds and simple to service like a lawnmower. Not that the chinese engines are complicated but to get the plastic crap off is more work than the actual servicing.

I wonder what that puppy costs? I just don't think it will sell, the guy says it's not practical as a scooter and for what the MSRP probably is you could have a crotch rocket. I think it would be easier to swing a leg over a MC than try to step over the middle of that scooter. It's cool though. Rich

Not that the chinese engines are complicated but to get the plastic crap off is more work than the actual servicing. Your Riva 180 should fit most of that. I'm sure Vespa style scooters will persist but older people need the ease of low center of gravity and no clutch for those arthritic left hands and will still want to look like they're riding a bike. Rich; I'm sure it will cost an arm and a leg and need constant maintenance. The new Hondas will be less and yards more reliable.
