Well I have a new Jonway YY250TT and what I heard its the same as a Roketta. It's time to get rid of all factory fluids. What I need to know is how to change the oil, Change oil filter and fuel filter and gear oil and change spark plug. So is there a repair manual for I can do all the required maintenance?

I live in Denver and there are no parts places where I can get the parts at!

Welcome Hozer,
Good to have you on the forum, Have you looked in the Tech section for a possible match of manuals for your scoot. I don't know if a specfic manual for yours is in there but the important thing to tell us is WHAT motor is in your scoot. Depending on the motor that is in there will help in answering your questions.

Well not sure what type motor I do have The manual sez Jonway 2011 MC-54-250. I saw a video of a scoot that look like the on I have. Here is the link. Put slider at 3/4 over and he will say the type of motor. Is there a sure way of finding out what motor type of motor I have.

Hozer just take a peek at your motor, One the head of the motor is pointing up the other motor the head is pointing toward the front of the scoot so it is one of the two motors I put pictures of.

Hey Hozer, nice to have you on the forum. That should be the CF Moto vertical engine and there are videos in the Library on how to change the oil. Like Alley says though, see what engine you have to be sure. There's been some issues with misbadging lately and it's better to just check. I'm pulling the CVT cover on my Fashion this weekend to change the transmission oil so I should be able to help you with that. Rich

Well I'll see if I can find out what motor tomorrow but I found out from a tech the reason the battery keeps dying. The reason it dies is because of the alarm. They have the same problem at the dealer. What they do is disconect the red battery cable. So what I did I put in a 20 amp on and off switch between the battery and the red battery cable. Now I was told the only reason the battery in the scoot is to start the scoot thats all. So as soon as I start the scoot I turn off the battery switch and the lights and everything else is still working. Kool Eh?

I also have an extra battery under the seat just in case the main battery fails. It sucks not having a kick start on this model of scoot.

Yep, the alarms and remotes on the scoots that have them usually will drain the battery just sitting there. A lot of the folks unplug the them they find that they are more problems than they are worth.
But glad you found a way so that it does not drain your battery.

HAHAHA!! Well if your has a remote those can cause problems restarting your scoot. If the sequence used to start them and shutting them down is not right(HEHE).

Kinda confused. I dont use the remote at all. So if I turn off the battery I could hurt the scoot??

No if you turn off the battery you are not hurting the scoot. What I meant is say for example you start the scoot with the remote but you turn it off using the Key and not use the remote to shut it off. The remote might get confused because the next thing it was set to do was shut it off. So next time you go to start it using the remote it might not start it. But don't worry about it if your not using the remote.

UPDATE!!!

I took a look at motor again and saw the the cylinder goes up like the Helix picture you have.

It sez this on the alum. Plate:

Engine Family: Jonway 244cc

IDLE 1700

thats It!

Now I need to set the Idle its at 1000 instead of 1700. So how do I go about getting rpm and and how do I change the plug?

easy way is to look at the CVT on the left side by rear tire got two bolts u got the Helix clone! I have the YY250T-2 there is no TT and yes it also has the Roketa model stamped MC-13-250 same scoot if u have the YY250T its same body as the MC-54-250 heres a link to all the Jonways www.jonway-motor.com/1-yy250t-2-scooter.html

if u have the YY250T-2 I can help u with those u will need some special tools and small hands to get to the plug without taking off plastic I need to post a video of how I do the plug and what tools I use and Idle adjustment is easy I dont have a pic of the carb im sure one will be posted soon. Ill even look to find one or I will take pic but got to find out what body u have? Both panels to get to the carb idle adjustment are under the seat.

oil change on Helix but same motor ours is cloned after. I use 4T Castrol Motorcycle oil was only $3.99 a qt!

Gear oil I use Lucas 80w90 and I use a oil gun cause I dont have the siphon. some just use the tapered tip on top of the gear oil container
