yeah a lot of the time you have to file the ring "end gap", I never did because i was just refitting together the same top end after modding the head.

Ok, I have done the calculations, I was over cautious. They are correctly gaped. it dragged some so what do I know

Good luck Bro And before you hit the start button turn it over by hand several times to make sure nothing is out of wack. Don't forget to adjust your valves I would set them both to .004 inches. Alleyoop

I'm setting then further out, I think it was set at .006 for intake, & .005 for exhaust, compression test said 185, that was too high, probably why compression finally died

OK, so I bent the crap out if the c ring that you put in to keep the pin (metal shaft) that keeps the piston on the rod. I'll need a new one.

You put one end of the C clip in the grove and you then work the other end so you can get the pin just inside then you can push the rest of the pin into the grove. Alleyoop

It wasn't so bad, so I got that back together, now to get the cylinder ALL the way seated, had to go to work. Will try again tomorrow.
