I just bought a mc-jl8 50cc 4t. New to adopters but enjoying the ride. I use it for commuting to work during the warmer months. Looking to increase take-off and top speed a little. What's the most bang for my buck. Right now everything is stock. About 120 miles on it.

Welcome Jerundax, Good to have you on the forum. What is the speed on it now, remember the Speedos on these things are off they are not accurate and register faster than what you are really going.
But anyway what does it read when your going? Also do you have a Tach on it, if not I would suggest getting a cheap TINY TACH on Ebay so you can tell what the RPMS are which help to tune the CVT with the right weights for faster exceleration and top speed. If it is really slow it may have some restrictions like a Washer between the Variator to limit the top speed etc..
But the cheapest way to gain speed is changeing out the weights but you have to know what GRAM weights are currently in there so you can tune your CVT to your weight and also if your ride is strictly flat or some hills etc.. If you don't have a scale to weigh grams you can take a weight out and take it to a post office and have them weigh it for you. Alleyoop

Hi Jerundax, glad to have you aboard Scooter Doc. Alley's right on with the bang for buck, start simple and see what happens. You can get digital pocket scales dirt cheap nowadays to measure rollers. If you need anything around the forum send me a PM. Rich
