Hey guys, new to the forum, hate to open with a question, but dont really have much choice I think.
Ive got a little UM Matrix 150 thats decided not to start. Got fuel, engine cranks, just no spark. I pulled the plug out but left it connected to the wire and cranked, nothing. When I first got the bike it would start without any issue, it sat over night, went to start it the next day.. Nothin.
New to these little things and not real sure the best course to follow to track down the culprit here.
Also, in a related note, (the wiring on this bike was JACKED, and Ive been gradually fixing it) there is a green wire coming out of the wiring loom around the same place the red wire that goes to the battery comes out (the small red wire), it doesnt have a connector on the end and its just sitting there. I can snap a pic if that helps any.. Any idea where this is supposed to go? I dont see much in that area it can plug in to.. A ground for the light harness thats supposed to go to battery neg ?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks folks.

Is your Kill Switch in the Run Position. To check if your getting spark you have to ground the plug to the motor. Check on your motor and see if there is a WIRE connected to the motor and follow it, it should be grounded to the FRAME or the battery, if to the battery then a wire from the battery to the frame should be there. I have a wire going from the motor to the frame and one from that junction to the battery itself. The pics arent the greatest, but they should give you an idea as to where the wire is. One pic shows the location I found the wire when I pulled the farings off and the other shows the junction the wire goes to. Is there a way to route around the kill switch to test if its bad? Ive tried the kill switch in both positions and held the plug so it touched the motor and the frame, no spark. The casing is off the wire loom because the previous owner jump started the bike backwards TWICE and I had to repair a few melted wires, however, the bike DID run, it ran pretty well actually, had it for a few days riding it around my little warehouse and like I said, started it one day, went to start it the next and nothing. No telling where that Green wire came off from you would have to follow it back from its source on the other end. You can bypass the Killswitch by taking the Killswitch wire off the CDI. Here is the CDI: Notice the Killswitch Wire Position on the CDI you can pull it off the CDI and CHECK if you get spark. Alleyoop

Considering the mess you have there it could be the CDI is fried (Alley's pic). However, if it was my mess I'd start by checking the stator. Rich

Do you have a ground wire running from the engine block to the frame? There must be one or you won't get spark. Actually check all your ground connections to the frame..those connections can be a problem. Follow the black wire from the battery to the frame
May want to invest in a multimeter...every scooter should come with one as standard equipment!
