Head and Tail light possible repair ??? By edd (Read 588 times)

.My scooter is now running great, but i have noticed i have no lights what so ever at Idle, but upon throttle i have lights. The more revs the more light. Signals and brake lights work with no issues. tail light and head and dash lights not so good. ???If i was to run a line from the battery to a switch and take the yellow wire from the light dimmer switch and put a line from the ignition switch. will this work

yes and then burn the wire . the headlights use a lot of amperage when running DC . from what your saying it sounds like your headlights are ac . I would check stator output and the regulator . If your looking to do a charging system up grade , it will make all of your charging problems go away .

There was a post here with instructions on stator upgrades from 6pole to 11pole when I did it . Bashin will be here soon I hope he can find it and post a link .

Well. i know the stator/rectifier/cdi/coil were just replaced, just got it back from the repair shop. The lights were working a little bit then they went out. while it was idling so i dont know what may have gone wrong. aside from the ground hook up under the engine is there another one in the front that may have gotten loose

thats a lot of parts , what was with your scooter ? sounds like a lagre bill for repair , I would go back to the repair shop . If they give you the run around come back here and I can supply you with tech info to fix it , and parts . Where do you live edd ?

I am in Turlock, ca. I am just sick of this stupid thing so i just posted it on Craigslist for $850 or reasonable offer if i do not sell it I will probably deal with it then.
