Well last oil change I may have over tightened my oil drain plug. I had a small leak and thought it needed to be tightened more, well I did and bolt started to slip/strip, I immediately stopped! Not wanting to cause more damage! Leak never got worst, still seeps not really leaks never have seen a oil spot on ground. I have read somewhere that Honda Helix parts are universal? So was going to order a new bolt and washer from bikebandit.com OEM Honda Parts for 2007 Honda Helix CN250. Would that work? I am thinking since I stopped so soon once I felt it slip/strip that it didn't do much damage, maybe a couple threads on drain bolt? I was worried about it being torqued too tight and with heat theres expansion, so not wanting to crack case I loosened up the drain bolt and re snugged it up with no problem, but still same amount of seep/leak as before. I am hoping a good quality OEM Bolt and washer will help? If not might have to look into something else permatex, thread tape...etc. Does anyone know for sure that a drain plug from 07 Honda Helix will work before I waste money ordering it?

Yes, it will fit. Just make sure it's for the CN250 engine. Rich

Thanks Rich! I dont think I did much damage probably just stripped a couple threads on bolt, maybe just washer I had a very slow seep before and had to flip washer over and it fixed that leak. Figure if like other bolts and screws there cheap! So I saw that bike bandit had them cheap, bolt and washer figured its better then whats in there!

Think I will just use the side plug with the screen, a member from other forum changes his oil that way and I would even change oil more frequently then using the bottom. Since I have had several issues now with the bottom drain plug. I was just worried I wouldnt get all the oil out using the side but looks like it will get most of it and with me changing it from bottom I know all old bad oil is out! now i will use the side more often so what ever is left would mix with new and I know what I dont get drained out from using the side wouldn't be that old of oil with me changing more frequently. Instead of once a season in spring. I will change it twice a season from the side. only one bolt to mess with too and with my bad back I wont have to lay on the floor!
