Hello, I have a 2006 motofino four stroke 50cc scooter. I tried the old trick of removing the black and white kill switch wire off c.d.i. And still no spark. I replaced c.d.i.,ignition coil, and rectifier was replaced by previous owner.
I can only assume it is stator and pickup. How do you test stator windings with multimeter and what values should i have? At this point i assume just buy new stator since all ground connections are fine and i replaced everything else. The scooter has only 1560miles on it. What causes issues with these stators, ive never had issues with my 30yr old honda ATC 3 wheeler engines. Thisis my first chinese product. I eagerly anticipate being enlightened on how to get spark. And yes i grounded threads of plug and turned over motor with lever pulled in and killswitch in runposition and key on..lol Thanks in advance

Before you start buying components test the pickup coil. Unplug the blue wire coming from the stator and test it for AC voltage while cranking the engine. You should get .05v+ AC. Here's a tutorial. Rich

Before you pull the pick up coil check the ground from the engine to the frame... they often go bad and cause the 'no spark' situation. If the ground is good check the pick up coil.
