Roy, the Magnum is a blast to ride for sure... If you are out to ride distance or 2 up all the time your better off on the side streets... I just use mine around town any moire or I have to tighten this and that all the time....
John, I know if my Honda Reflex motor was on my Magnum it would run stronger and faster and it is a 250cc but puts out much more HP. The only problem than is the trike would shake rattle and row and fall apart at higher speeds.

They sure are fun. But Some times all the little stuff is a pita. On my ride the other day I noticed I lost a rear deck screw and on the left side a bracket broke. More fixin'.

Yeah Mike I'm with you...maybe we could add some training wheels too.
Seriously though I have been looking at possibly swapping a 400 quad runner motor into the Magnum. I've been drawing up some schematics for it. I think it's doable with complete drivetrain swap.

John they probably could but you are going to get a terrible dyno read from the cvt. Other than a baseline it wouldn't be good for much nor very accurate.

Alleyoop: Just thought of something. The perfect little motor for these things would be a Mazda rotary. Torque is great for the size...trouble is adapting the rest of the drivetrain.

Guys back in my motocross days we would buy a chain tensioner that would bolt up to the swing arm. It had a roller that the chain would ride on and a spring that would keep tension on the chain so that it would keep it tight. I am going to look into it and get back to you on it, john

That chain tenisoner will work /When in Miami I mod some 750 Honda Automatics to trikes for the meter maids we used the same thing to keep the chain tenison right/ I dont remember where I got the bracket but we did use a wheel off a skateboard for the roler//worked great/ I will look in my old paper work to see if I can find it Fido

Yes it can be done Lee had mentioned it last year when we were changing the tires to the 255/50s. Still... I say get a real chain first
