CVT noise

Well I have a problem. I took a low speed spill on the scoot a week or two ago. No real damage I thought. Lost a mirror and had some scratches. Now though when I hit over 30 mph I start to hear a pulsing grind from the cvt. I think the small gear above the variator may be rubbing on the gear face of the variator. This is a 50cc Sunny clone short case. I think I have the picture attached of the scooter now.

That is the BENDIX, if you notice the shaft sticking out on the Bendix FITS into a SLOT on the CVT cover. So if you did not LINE up the BENDIX SHAFT into the HOLE in the CVT cover it will be riding on the Variator Fan pulley. Take a picture of the CVT area by the Variator. It probably looks like this: Alleyoop

Ok thanks for the help. Is there an easy way to ensure I have it lined up right? I don't have a lot of experience with these this is my first scooter.

Here is what I would do if I had trouble lineing it up. I would drill a small hole in the center of the CVT where the shaft fits into and then Paint a White or Yellow or something on the Center of the Shaft this way if you see the color through the hole from the outside you know it is in there. Ok worked on it today. Pretty sure its in but still getting a grinding noise at higher speeds and climbing hills. Now I'm thinking rooller out of place or a clutch spring loose. Haven't been able to check because I don't have an impact wrench. May have to wait till I can buy one.

Also check other things like center stand etc..if you dropped the scooter you may have something loose that is vibrating at speed...it may sound like the Cvt but could be something else..

Ok Sprocket are you psychic as well as great at scooter repair? Did a complete inspection and found the inside spring on the center stand had come loose. Didn't realize there were two springs. Had my preteen sons help with the repair great bonding time. Noise is gone thanks Sprocket and Alley for all the help.
