Correct air filter for a Lance Duke By mthomas (Read 885 times)

My bike never came with an air filter element and I figured it was time to get one as the performance should increase. Can't find anything for the Duke but found this for a Bali...does anybody know if this is correct?

Since you have the same engine I'm 90% certain it would work. Rich

That is the correct air filter for your set up. There are less expensive ones out there. An example from ebay:

OK guys...I was TOTALLY wrongo. There is an element in the air box and it looks like new, clean and free flowing. All the hoses are hooked up and I cleaned the carb. It was clean as a whistle but I pulled out all the screws and sprayed with cleaner. I also cleaned both jets with wire and one was #38 and one was #110. Put the carb back in and got it started. I also checked the unreachable air/fuel screw and it was 2 1/2 turns so I put it back the same. I did not take it for a ride because it has been raining all day, maybe tomorrow. It still smelled rich to me while it was sitting there idling. What else should I be looking for if there is no performance gain.

What's it doing Mike, no top end or pick up or both? How's the plug look? Rich

Really just not fast enough Rich. Only tops out at 60 or so. Has a slight hesitation when on power and exhaust smells rich.

Is the enricher extending?

Yes checked that today. I also re adjusted the valves and they were pretty close. I did tighten up the A/F screw about 1/2 a turn. The plug was black so it was definately running rich. I also took it for a short jaunt today as it is in the low 60's but seemed better. I will shake it down on a longer run soon.
