Thanks for reading, glad i found this great site, hope i get a nice time here, anyway , i have a sunl cozumel 150 scooter, wich it was runnng great until i changed the oil, i think i overfilled the oil, and somehow it went to the air filter and the scooter started to gave me some por aceleration but once i got in to the 55 miles i was ok, so last night i uninstalled the air filter, since i thought it was in good conditions, i tried to clean it up with some dish soap, and after that i let it dry and installed again, my surprise was that the scooter didnt event wanted to start, so i just removed the air filter and the scooter starts, i even did a test drive and the scooter runs just fine , as i also installed a new spark plug. So my question is, do i really need to buy a new filter, since impretty sure that its still new, o am i missing somenthing, im pretty sure all the hoses are in the correct place. If anyone can hel point me to the correct manual for this scooter, thanks for any help.

The oil goes up through the crankcase breather and gets into the airbox. Washing a paper filter won't restore it, the micro-pores are now plugged with particles. If it's a foam filter washing might be OK. You should get an air filter back in it, it's not real good to run them without one. If you get one back in it that's not plugged it should run OK again. The belts have nothing to do with horsepower the belt effects the scooter speeds that are possible for your scoot. Alleyoop

I installed the filter, scooter runs just fine as it was running before, i cheked the belt and the belt looks a bit worn, not too much not alot of brakeage just few tiny ones, but the cover does have alot of black dust from the belt, the belt cost me 15 dlls so maybe tomorrow ill buyit and see if i can get more speed, as i only h\get up to 55 on starght raods and to 50 uhill, not bad , but wish i could hit 60 on straight road. about setting the valve gaps , im a bit sacred to mess with the engine in that way, but im a DYI person so i gues after replacing the belt, ill mess a bit with the valves...ill kee posted, any other sugestions to get a bit more seed on this thing?

Just remember 150s are good for 50mph maybe 55mph, the speedometers are not very accurate and lie to you. So if the speedometer says it is doing 60mph it is probably really only going a little over 50mph. To really get them to get more top speed the cheapest is to change the Transmission gears here in the states you can get the two gears for around $40.00-$50.00 U.S dollars. Alleyoop
