Ouch!!! Wow John... Were you off road riding or what? Maybe just a bad weld... I myself do not know anyone that has changed the exhaust yet. Can you call one of these local shops and see if they can get you a new head pipe and will the old muffler still slide into the pipe? Not sure how it is broke or were it broke

If you want it fixed right you have to find a HOTROD SHOP they build cars from the ground up and build their own exhausts if they have to. That is where I took mine and had them build me a whole New 1 1/4 pipe and they also made a new Flange out of a piece of metal. I had ordered the 2 inch Inlet Suppertrapp muffler and they build up the end of the 1 1/4 pipe to fit inside the 2 inch muffler inlet. They welded the mount onto the muffler and attached it to my swingarm. Have had it now for 2 1/2 years and all looks like BRAND NEW. GOOD STUFF not like the cheap mufflers and pipes the dealers sell, the pipe is metal strong as hell. Alleyoop Here is where my pipe broke: Here in this picture you can see part of my Supertrapp muffler and how they built up the pipe to fit the muffler.

That should be covered under warranty. Call the dealer you bought it from.

I have called my dealer and the guy Aron wants to know from my dealer why I need a head pipe. I am getting sick of them. Half the head pipe is still bolted to the motor. The other half fell off and I could not find it or I would have just had it welded! Has anyone had their rear deck start to warp from the heat of the muffler? Mine is. Well your dealer should tell him why, LOL, It broke. Seems like a simple request. Jim

Come on Tierod, Take a picture of the parts and send it to the dealer, they always want some kind of proof to verify the part or parts have a problem which they should. There are people that want to get extra free parts and that is just one way dealers try to protect themselves.
Also they can use the pictures to send to the Distributor and in turn they can send them to the Manufactuer to maybe have them use better materials or modify the part or parts. So in reality your helping to maybe better the quality of the next batch of scoots. Alleyoop

There are always 2 sides to a story and to this point all the folks here know is yours. Mine is. This request is not out of line as Alley said. If you talked to me the way you talked to Aron or talked to others the way you did to me about Aron, I would be leary of your request also. Alley I am sure you are right about people wanting extra parts. But as far as making a better part I don't think they care. How many people have had the muffler break or the fender break, out of round tires, rear decks cracking etc. Mine is shot cracked right through the mounting holes on both sides with less then 250 miles. They know the problems but they need good old American know how to fix it. Have you heard of any improvements If they don't care, then explain to me why all 300cc machines are being redone and modified? Explain to me why the Owner of Pacific Rim Int'l ( Ice Bear Ca ) traveled to the factory in China to ensure the mods were done to his satisfaction? Explain to me why Ice Bear is the only distributor, that I am aware of, that does all the paperwork for shipping damage claims for the customer, and sends the parts out as soon as they get the paperwork showing that the driver annotated the damages on the bill of lading? When you first starting talking to me about the NEW 300s and then decided to buy an unmodded Tornado, at that time you went by jccamaro, I tried to warn you that the 4 Tornados that were for sale at that time were units that had problems and were repaired, you were aware of this and bought one anyways. You even said to me you were taking a risk, but didn't want to wait. I could go on with more examples, but I think I have made my point. Jim

Tierod, you do not call IB you call the dealer you bought the Trike From and Send him pictures to proof the damaged part. Your going at this the wrong way calling IB is not going to do anything for you. Your beef is with the Dealer that Sold it to you and he in turn goes to IB. That is how it works, just like when you buy a car, you do not take it to the manufacture you take it to the Dealer you Bought it from sameo sameo. Alleyoop

Guys I am calling the dealer. I know thats what I have to do for warranty and I don't have a problem with that. I have had some problems with the shipper more then anything which was not icebears fault. I just expected that after the wait for the parts that they would have sent everthing that was on the list. I got stuff that don't even go on my bike and all my parts where in stock at the time. I understand that the Owner is trying to fix the problems but when you have a bracket or muffler that keeps breaking over and over again then he should know something is wrong. You don't keep selling something that you know is bad you fix it. I read somewhere that if the problems on the 300's where not fixed he would not import any until it was. Look at Alley with his exhaust after them sending him a pipe and that broke and then buying one that broke he had one made and fixed the problem. That should not the customers thing to do. Jim your a dealer and the best when it comes to your field and you have been helpful when I have e-mailed you or called but I remember you saying that the EPA failed the Tornado with the smog test and where working on them. Not that they are defective. If the goverment wants to really do something they should fine out how Icebear sells a product with known defects and safety issues to the public, and keeps sending them parts that are no better then the one they are replacing. Your right I knew they had some issues but the Tornado and Magnum with the new design seam better. At least I thought so after reading your review on one you sold, you raved about it and I figured you should know. I would have loved to buy it through you but with money the way it is I could not see paying almost $500 more. You where not going to PDI and I understand why. So for the difference in the money I figured I would do just like everybody else go on the forums and read. When I need a part call my dealer which I have done and when it's out of warranty I'll be looking on the net who has the cheapest price like every one else. The guys on the forums have been very helpful I am not trying to blast anyone I enjoy the bike I just want it taken care of so that it is safe and so I can ride it. I know you get what you pay for but on the other hand you want it to work no matter what the price. How many times have we brought something back to Wal-Mart because it broke or didn't work right? You know since I have joined this forum I have called a few things that has nothing to do with a scooter and let it slide. So for now on let's just keep this on what this forum for created for. I will from now on, John Since you decided to add more so will I. You either have a bad memory or are full of it. You kept calling me, emailing me and posting what a great deal you were getting and how cheap, extras you were getting and then things changed. How are we supposed to know what is real and what is a fairy tale? I know you said you were calling your dealer, but I also know for a fact you have called Ice Bear and treated Aron like crap. I also know most of the folks at Ice Bear know your name, hmm that says something. I also know you emailed me wanting the owner's last name so you could write him directly to complain. I have also heard, from a reliable source, that you did a charge back on your credit card and plan on trying to keep the trike. Good luck with that one. Your parts for shipping damage were set right away to you. I would like to know what "KNOWN SAFETY ISSUES" you are talking about that the government should be looking into. These machines have all passed US Safety Standards. How could I write a review on the new machines? They have not even come into the US yet. I did write a review lately on a 150, is that the one you are talking about? As far as $500 more buying from me I sure would like to know where you got that figure. I remember the conversation, and I would not even sell you one of those 4 Tornado's. Kinda like I won't sell a Reverse Trike. I am not comfortable doing that. After reading all you have said, the way you talked to the folks at Ice Bear, the way you were trying to get something for nothing, I can truthfully say this: I am glad you didn't buy from me! Jim

I have not seen the new 300 with the dual exhaust. I did a write up saying that was what they doing. That is not a write up praising what was already done and I didn't say anything about the Tornado mods yet.
My site says I charge a credit card fee but I said I would waive that for you sense you were a forum member. There was an extra charge for the Geogia Warehouse for the machine, not extra shipping. The total to you was $4295 for a 2011 not the machines coming out now 2012. Lets see 4295 - 3995 = 300 not 500.
I am not questioning your honor or your code I am stating facts. You started all of this a long time ago, and I finally had to speak up because folks were only get your side of the story.
"The safety issues are the cracking and welds breaking etc. I have had body parts come off with the clips still in place in front of cars behind me that guys gave me the finger and others had to drive out of the way. "
The only broken weld you talked about is a muffler/pipe. Body parts coming off with the clips still on them sure sounds like a screw or screws that were not tightened by who ever did your PDI.
"Now that I am Icebears Black list I have heard that what they will do now is when I need a part they will send a used bad part or let my order just sit there. This is the company that you are defending? "
No idea where you heard that, but I find that very hard to believe. And YES I am defending Ice Bear, I have done business with them for 4 years now and have never had a problem getting anything under warranty, getting parts or had anything but pleasant dealings with them.
I will honor your request of not answering any of your posts, unless your unfounded rantings and remarks continue.
Jim

Did you even bother to look at the date of that Post? 2010 do you know how many mods have been done since then? Let's compare apples to apples, okay?
If you don't think shipping was part of the cost from your dealer you have another thought coming. Shipping is always added in, some say free shipping and some say shipping included. I guess you could say shipping was free, but they raise he price of the machine to cover it.
And you are right about one thing, your problems are yours and nobody elses, until you bring them to an open forum.
If all you were asking for was help, that is all you would have gotten. Instead you started badmouthing, making untrue comments, attacking the integrity of one of the best distributors I have ever seen, and only telling half of the story.
On thing I have noticed in your replies, you keep jumping back and forth from the 150 to the one you got, you address the parts and shipping issues and also talk about differences in prices, but not once did you address the charge back!

I guess i am a little late...my muffler broke in half. i had it welded but broke again. the best thing to do for me is to get another fabricated i guess. the metal is just too thin for the vibration of this bike. but any suggestions would be welcome. No warranty so don't worry bout that. I live in a small town so might take it to a muffler shop or try a junkyard.
