Try starting the scooter and see if one of the hose hisses. I always go for the cheap fix and plug the hissing hose. If that cures the stalling then whatever fell off was probably a joint joining the hoses together

If you cannot find anything, take pictures around the Carb and the hoses. Hoses on the carb you will have one Vacuum hose going to the ACV valve on the side of the Throttle cable on the other side(LEFT) you will have the Fuel line going into the carb and a hose connected tot he bottom of the carb which is the Carb Bowl Drain hose, that hose will go and hang or be connected right in front of the CVT cover. If the scoot has emssions then there are more hoses and Vacuum hoses going to canisters. Alleyoop

Hey Alley,
I hope I can do just that. Pictures are a big help, but it may take me some time as I don't see her that often.
Here are the ones I do have. Someone told her that there should be another hose joining the top part with the zip tie to the cover on the bottom.
The top is just an open hose.

Here is the pic showing the bottom that has a small filter on the front. I'm not sure they told her right.

That is probably what she lost the extension to that hose, but that hose should go to the CARB so that is why it is having trouble running. So check the Tubing from the CARB going to the AIR BOX and I bet it is either gone or hanging around on top of the motor. Alleyoop

See the last picture I put up see that tubeing connected to the carb going to the AIR BOX. I will bet that is missing or hanging loose. Alleyoop

Here is what I believe is the problem a piece of hose is missing going to the carb: Alleyoop

Great! I will let her know, even better I'll see if I can take a trip over there and help her out myself. She has been getting the run around.
I just don't feel confident working on scoots that are not mine. I have been able to get mine back on the road, but I'm no Alleyoop or Jim.
I'll check all the hoses while I'm there and I will post back when I get an answer.
Thank you all again.

Okay, I went by my friends house today and look over her scoot real quick. As far as I could tell all looks good from the outside. What we thought was a missing hose, was not the case. I looked under it from the other said and saw this.

BUMMER, ok that open hose is how the air box gets it air.
Well if it starts and runs but will not hold an IDLE UNLESS YOU GIVE IT GAS then It most likely are the valves are tight and looseing compression. That is a very common thing to happen once you get a few miles on a scoot and you then have to adjust them every so often. And it all depends on the quality of the Head Material. So if the guy did not adjust the valves then I think it is time. Adjust both Valve gaps to .004 inchs.
But try and find out DETAILS on how it is running: Does it start when cold? After warming up it does not want to stay running? Does it die after riding when coming to stops? After it gets hot you have to wait a bit before it will start?
All and any of those symptoms point to TIGHT VALVES. Alleyoop

Sorry for the multiple post. Back to topic. The scoot still shuts off after a short time. It also will not start without a twist on the throttle. She might make it half a block and she will have to push it back home because it will have to sit for a while before it will restart. It will run as long as the throttle is held open. I adjusted the idle screw, but that did not help. I'm thinking the valves need to be adjusted. I don't really know tho. Please help and thank you again.

The scooter is a 2006 and she has put 1400 miles on it. Nothing but oil changes and check ups have been done to it, If I remember correctly.
Thanks Alley, I will pass that info on to her.
