Hi Trikers, Jordi Ramos( jotrike2011), has a trike and he has emailed me to see if any other triker has run into the following problem: He has done this because he cannot explain it to well he is from another country. His Right Axle the part that FITS INSIDE THE WORM GEAR SLEEVE has worn down smooth. So now the Axle WORM GEAR does NOT TURN THE AXLE to turn the Wheel. Now that axle has GROOVES just like you see in the picture and that groove slides into a KEY BUILT inside the WORM GEAR SLEEVE. Here is a Picture of the Rear AXLE Pay attention to the YELLOW LABEDED parts that I put wrote about. Alleyoop

Al, from the sound of it and the looks of how it slips into the key, there is no way it could slip in and out enouogh and if so wear would be on both parts. Sounds like the right axle was not properly harden. Replace axle and move along. Later I will post. when I remove rear gear box a picture of the shaft like the one I posted were the rear sproket from the chain has moved the spline groves and sloted it. Just soft metal and must be replaced.
Magoo Magoo ya done it again....Just beat it with a hammer and it fill fit in....

I told him there is no way to fix that BUT HE needs to get a new Axle and possibley a New Worm Gears.
Tierod, No not a bent Axle crap that is some hard metal, I think it was just a bad piece that was not hardened properly. I would guess the KEY and the Worm Sleeve would get eaten away first rather than the Hardened Axle. Alleyoop

Would like to know if he can see any wear at all on the receivers? Looks like wrong hardness but if there is any wear inside, any at all....better replace the inner too. He can check with a pen light, hope they show no wear. But if they do he will have to remove the diff. Order the parts and go for it... Magoo

Hey Jordi, Have you Filled the Differential with GREASE, it may be DRY, I use FULL SYNTHETIC GREASE and put it in until it will not pump anymore. Alleyoop

I think the axles are DEFECTIVE and were not hardened properly. If anything the Key inside the WORM GEAR SLEEVE would have broken off but not the AXLE slots. Alleyoop

If that metal was harden right it would take a gringer to slot it. If the keys are not damaged at all than they just were not harden properly. Order new axles and clean the diff. out and regrease and ride the piss out of it...

WOW!! Sorry to hear that you had to find someone to build you new AXLES because the Company would not respond. I am sure they wher made out of much better metal than the cheap metal they used in china. But it is not good because now if something else goes wrong for that Trike you may not be able to get parts.
Good Luck Jordi, and don't be a stranger also take pictures of your trike and put it up or send them to me and I will add them to this Thread. Alleyoop
