8000 rpms for a 4 stroke are pretty high, normally the 150s REDLINE starts at 8000 rpms that motor is screaming at 8000rpms. I would set it up to run 7000-7500 rpms which is where the 4ts make their max horsepower. Alleyoop

HAHAHA, well millsc, you could leave it as is but only crank it up if you need it. You could run at any RPMS but will know you still have a little extra if you want. What is bad is running at HIGH RPMS all the time.
Now here is a nice thing about having taller gears, you have enough rpms to pull the taller gears. So now you crank it up get up to speed then you can back off the throttle dropping your rpms and guess what your speed will stay the same. Alleyoop

If you put in the gears and it can get to 46-48mph now it will get you little over 50+mph. Like they say HOLD ON SLUPPIE Alleyoop

Go 2 up and 2 down you will not even notice it but you will gain your mph on the top end. Alleyoop
