Alright guys no change today and I have done everything I know to do and still not spark. I am at a loss and I am tired. Here are a few pics to try and give some reference as to what the problem might be. Here are the pics of the stator that you requested Alley Here is how the old Magneto looked after it snapped at the woodruff key. There is a huge crack in it. Video: s1244.beta.photobucket.com/user/A1WABBIT/media/Engine%202/M2U00116_zps49faea2e.mp4.htmlI am not sure what happened. I do not know if the snapping of the flywheel caused the stator to go bad. I do not know. I have checked all the wiring, still nothing! Thanks in Advance!

Also I know that the factory woodruff key is 4x4x13.8. I have had a difficult time putting that key into the slot. I am wondering if there is a key that is bigger to fit that slot properly. The crank did not come with any.

Sure sounds good turning over. It looks like some wires are burnt right where the wires hit the case going out or is that just dirt or oil. Get a spare PLUG and pull the SPRAK PLUG BOOT OFF THE SPARK PLUG on the motor and stick the plug in and HOLD it against the frame and crank it and see if you get spark. Also Make sure you have the MOTOR GROUNDED to the FRAME there should be a WIRE usually on one of the VALVE COVER BOLTS going to the FRAME. If the motor is NOT grounded to the Frame you will NOT get a spark. If no spark on either the FRAME OR MOTOR If you have a VOLT METER you could test if Voltage is going to the CDI, If none then the STATOR is shot. Alleyoop

Alley, I have checked and rechecked all of that. I have two grounds going to the valve cover, I checked the continuity on all the wires going to and from the CDI and stator. When putting a spare plug into the boot, nothing. Voltage on the red/black wire from the stator was in the neighborhood of 35-40 volts. I have gotten the stock CDI, NCY CDI, Universal Part CDI, and the Performance CDI from scrap dog, and no response on any of these units. I am getting fuel because I can smell that. Just no spark.
The engine does sound nice huh! I am not sure what the problem was but I do believe that part of the build is solved!!! And it does not matter which CDI is installed it does not bind at all!

Well how about the COIL, have you swapped out the coil maybe the coil is bad YOU need to find out where the VOLTAGE is being lost, now let me ask this the WIRES GOING TO THE CDI where they just PLUG and PLAY or did you RE-WIRE them. Check if voltage is getting to the COIL the coil only has 2 wires one ground and the other carries the voltage from the CDI.
Also the COIL CAP could be bad the clips inside to grab the plug could be broke or the CAP ITSELF may not be making contact with the wire inside the coil wire. THE CAPS just screw on and off, so you can actuall unscrew the cap and cut the coil wire and screw it back onto the COIL wire. Alleyoop Alleyoop

I had to rewire it and everything was fine. I had the engine running yesterday afternoon and I noticed a weird noise, once I tracked it down it was the flywheel. From that point to present I have not been able to start it. I have checked and triple checked all the connections and yes my wiring looks like the images you posed. I am using the NCY direct fire coil and it has a boot on it like a car and you can hear the spark plug as it is held in place. I will check the voltage to the coil tomorrow. But I do not believe that it is getting any power.

Gti, Then before you go and spend more bucks on parts find out which part is bad, Go to that HOW-TO I posted and check the PICK UP COIL and Stator If you had it running before the flywheel went to heaven then it has to be either the stator or the pickup coil. Now you can just get a new pick up coil. Or if you have another one slap that sucker on and try it. Alleyoop

was thinking the same as Alley just ask and if you have a spare plug change it out as the one in there now is most likely fouled out with gas
