Hey Guys & gals? Just thought wifes Trike had smoothed out--felt better for a couple of starts & then started the same old crap. When taking off, it feels & sounds like the chain is jumping teeth on sprocket or something like that--but if you stand off to the side & look at chain & sprockets the hopping up & down is at the rear sprocket--once it gets a little speed up it is a lot smoother- still not as it should be-I am comparing it to my Daughters 2010 trike it is 10 times the trike this new cyclone is. Cyclone has new chain on it--line up as close as I can get it--sprocket teeth hit dead center in middle of chain--Diff has plenty of lube in it-gear box freshly changed with Syn Lube-engine runs smooth(new plug-filter-valves adj at 4&5- comp at 155) all mount bolts are very tight- castle nuts on hubs are tight. am pretty well lost at this time. Ally how about that bearing in the gear box which some member found to be missing in his, any input on that? tear Diff down & check it? Any help Greatly appreciated. Never had any idea a new scoot could be so troublesome--no good words for Ice Bear from here. Thanks Pop

Pop, Let me ask does your trike have REVERSE either on the side like mine or on the left handlebar. The Rear Hopping will happen if the Cable to the Reverse is not adjusted right. If you do have reverse then what I believe is happening is the forward gear position is NOT fully Engaged and you need to Adjust the Reverse Cable, give it a little more slack to allow the Forward gear to full mesh. I have Reverse and had some hopping occuring when I first got it and found that to be the problem IF I used the Reverse. I then Adjusted for good forward gear meshing and I NEVER USE the REVERSE. If NO REVERSE then IT COULD very well be the Missing Bearing to support the Shaft that the Clutch turns. IT was missing on mine as well, I had it put in when I had the BBK put in. Here is where the missing bearing should go. To check if it is missing you need to take the CLUTCH off and the plate that the CLUTCH shaft is attached to it has I think 7 bolts holding the Plate and behind the plate are the bearings and the tranny gears. Picture of MISSING FINAL DRIVE GEAR SUPPORT BEARING. Picture of FINAL DRIVE SUPPORT BEARING in place: All nice and pretty:
