i got my new gears in from scrappy going to install them tomorrow how hard is this gonna be any tips for banging them out and in and any tricks? may pick up a press at harbor freight would i need the 1/2 ton or 1 ton press?

If you have a Heavy Duty Vise you can Pound the gear off and pound the gear on, just protect the Shaft and do not Tighten the Vise on the Shaft just open enough that the shaft fits inbetween the the vise grips. Or to not worry get the Arbor Press and for the few dollars more GET THE 1 TON. As a matter of Fact I am going to get the one ton as well.

gears are done i put in 16/50 gears stock actually were 15/51 i just took them to a machine shop got them pressed out and in for 15 bucks i actually gained acceleration and a few mph on the top end, paid 31 bucks for the gears shipped from scrappys ebay store and 15 to the machine shop pretty good mod for 46 bucks total

i heard stories of loss of acceleration with 17/49 gears so i decided to go with one up one down it gave me what i needed and the rpms didnt really change i live in a very hilly area so couldnt afford hill climbing power loss
