would it be worth it to get a 23mm carb for my set up and match the ports or is my 18mm carb ok or should i get a 20mm carb

Which bbk do you have if you have the 72 you could go with the 20mm, if you have the next one up which I believe is 83 or something like that you could then go with the 23mm carb.

i have the 88cc one up from the 83cc 52mm piston

If you have a free flow exhaust and filter It should be able to take the 23mm, maybe even with the jets you currently are running with 95 main and #35 pilot.
If a little to much you can always drop the main jet a little. All motors do not run alike so again its a trail and error situation. You will be sucking in more air and fuel that is for sure.

You may squeeze out a few more mph on the top end.

i was gonna buy the scrappy 23mm pumper carb i thought maybe the 18mm carb i have now is too small for my set up now and i have a uni free flow exhaust big valve head and a9 cam

If having a little trouble with the amount you can gap the valves just a little tighter try .003 on both that will make them open sooner and more and hold them open a little longer before closeing to suck in more air and fuel.

Yea, the 23mm will work better with the big valve head and cam.

No get the 23 I made a mistake and corrected the post. With the CAM and the big head the 23 should work fine.

Well the valve gaps you can try .004 first to play it save and then you can always try .003. Don't forget the cam you have already has longer duration and lift. You can always play with the gaps if to much or to little.

ok ill get the carb its going to be the last of my mods until the crank breaks which i expect then ill get a stroker or a naruku hd crank

HEHEHE, if the crank goes so will a lot of other things possibley the jug and for sure the piston. Just hope if it goes it does not break loose and punch a hole in the case.
