i bent the carb needle clip i bent it back but it doesnt sit totally flat i got my bigger carb it fits in my stock manifold but really tight the scoot starts and idles good but when i hit the throttle dies right away its a 24mm carb in a 50cc manifold waiting on the manifold i think the manifold is leaking air since it doesnt fit right just making sure i haven't messed up the needle clip

Well take the air filter off and with your finger see if you can GENTLY push the Cylinder up and down with no binding. Also you may just want to take the diaphram out and make sure the needle is being held to the cylinder and not came loose the only thing holding is the CLIP otherwise the Cylinder will rise but the needle will stay in the main jet. i moved the clip up a notch but it bent when i tried to put it back on i bent it back with my needle nose pliers and got it in the notch the carb seems to leak air from the bottom of the manifold i can feel it would this cause it to die immediately

It could make it die but immediately I don't think so unless you have a big arse leak. I would check the needle to see if it is still being held with that clip. Those clips break real easy and especially since you bent it back I think you needle fell out. So as soon as you open the throttle ALL YOU GET IS AIR no fuel. Come on man it is only TWO screws right on top of the carb will take you 5 minutes to verify if the needle fell out and save you a lot of messing around. Alleyoop

HAHAHA, is it the type that you screw a little flat piece of bracket with a screw to hold the needle and clip down. Alleyoop Like this: Or with a needle that has more slots like this:

it revs but sputters bad unless i put my finger under the bottom of the manifold to block the leak i think it will be good when my manifold comes in

Good those are actually the best kind the other ones are CRAP the needle is held on within a PLASTIC piece which you hardly can adjust and you can you have to get really tiney PLASTIC WASHERs. Alleyoop
