I filled the tank on Sat I ended up having it overflow I was watching the gas gauge but it didn't really move. Once it overflowed I closed the cap and ran water over the tank to rinse it off. Opened the tank and it was to the top closed it off and took the trike around the block a few times then parked it this morning I pushed it of the garage and started it letting it idle while I put my helmet on closed the door sat on the trike twisted the throttle and it died. Would not start. Went out came back 2 hrs later same thing. Just tried again and no start. I took the gas cap off and the gas level can't be reached with my finger it's like it went away. Gas in the filter took plug out and it is wet. Any ideas? How could the gas level go from top of the filler to low enough that it can't be reached? No gas leak floor order the trike is dry.

It probably went into the Gas Vent Tube and the gas is in the CHARCOAL CANISTER. The Gas Vent needs to Vent and with gas in there and the Charcoal Canister probably full of fuel it is not venting and stops gas from flowing out of the tank. Most folks take the EVAP system off because of this same problem. If the Canister filled up with fuel it is NO GOOD anymore anyways, you either take it off or get a new Charcoal canister.
So try this take the gas cap off and crank it over and see if it starts. Alleyoop

The canisters are usually mounted on the frame rails it could be on either side, just depends where there was room. Alleyoop

Ger42, Ok I think this is what is happening, DUE to the canister filled up with gas, it is flooding the motor. Here is what I believe is happening, now the EVAP Canister REQUIRES VACUUM and I bet as you crank it it is sucking in gas from the Canister. To verify that take the VACUUM hose off going to the CANISTER where it connects to near the INTAKE MANIFOLD. Now it might connect to a "T" or "T" or directly onto the MANIFOLD and see if it is WET WITH GAS.
IF SO LEAVE it DISCONNECTED and PLUG up the VACUUM HOSE GOING TO the CANISTER. YOU DO NOT WANT and OPEN VACUUM HOSE coming from the INTAKE MANIFOLD. You can BEND IT OVER and ZIP TIE it or get a GOLD TEE if you GOLF and stick it in the Vacuum hose and zip tie it. Alleyoop

Ger once you fill the tank on the magnum and drive it just a few blocks the fuel level falls below that neck. There is no fuel canister on the 300 that I know of... You said you watered things down after the spill so I would check all your connectors there just behind the tank is a bundle of them and they do not take good to water. You said you have fuel to the plug so check out the spark. Most likely is a simple hard to find wire connector

Dumped the oil it had gas or water in it. Level was good when I first checked it today before dumping it it was high. If it has water how do I get the water out. If I drain the tank what do I do with the gas water mixture? Where in the tank is the gas pickup?

Gerald , look for the wires going into the tank should lead you to them . The fact your oil was over full I would check the float in the carb , make sure it is regulating correctly . fuel will drip ontop of the pistion and seep past the rings and into the oil (then it will be over filled)
You can try dry gas or just dump it as waste oil .

anyone know what the line coming of the bottom of the carb is? Found it is a drain line screwed out the plug but nothing came out. Should I pull the line feeding the carb and use the starter to empty some of the gas out? Top line. or pull the line from the tank and try suctioning out some gas? Line with red on it.

That lien is just the bowl drain for the float bowl. If you have no gas comming from it you have you are not getting gasl into the carb bowel. As for the the gas in the oil if you gust keep cranking it and trying to start it the gas will seap thru the rings into the oil. If you have water in the gas it will have a milk look to it sometimes greenish. Are you sure you are getting a spark? Take the pluig out and dround it to the motor and turn it over a few times. That thing will flood in fast if no spark

Since you unscrewed the Screw from the CARB BOWL DRAIN HOSE and no gas came out the carb does not have any fuel in it. So lets FIRST CHECK if fuel is being pumped to the CARB: 1. Take the FUEL HOSE OFF THE CARB and stick it in a cup and crank the motor over. Fuel should stream out. 2. If no fuel comes out THEN TAKE THE VACUUM HOSE GOING TO THE PUMP and suck on it FUEL should then come out.
2. If no fuel comes out it could be a couple things.
a. The PUMP is bad. b. The Fuel hose may be clogged either from the Tank to the PUMP or from the PUMP to the Filter. c. The Fuel FIlter is clogged. d. The clog may be by the outlet of the tank.
