the last pic you posted is the fuel pump it works on vacuume . Do you have fuel in the gas tank ? You say you got no gas out of the fuel bowl . If you have gas in the tank and it is getting to the pump either the pump is defective or you have a vacuume problem . Pull the vacuume line from the manifold , pull the gasline from the ,carb put the gas line in a container/cup . Suck on the vac line hard see if gas flows from the fuel line .

Thanks Mike for the phone conversation. What I did: I took the screw out of the drain line and blew into it and got fuel out of the overflow I pulled the hose off the carb and cranked the engine did this till I got half a glass of gas out. When my wife gets off the Imac I'll post pics of the stuff floating on top of the gas I took out. Went to Advance Auto to get a new fuel filter they were out I'll get (2) on Tuesday.
Not sure what is in the gas I did add Stabil to the gas might be that.

If those are black specks it is probably from inside the fuel hoses. And if the Fuel Filter is not a good one it will allow some of those to get to the Carb Bowl. If they do then those tiny specks will clog usually the PILOT JET and PASSAGE because they are tiny outlets. The Main Jet has a much bigger hole and not likely to get clogged. Check your Fuel Filter and it should be full of that stuff. Alleyoop

Wow... Well what I did was drain the the fuel from the tank and flushed it than replaced all the lines and put a new filter on and pulled the card and cleaned it. If you have the side pannels off you may want to pull the tank and really clean it out. Al is right, put a good filter on it and a large one and replace ALL the gas lines from the tank to the carb. I also flushed the fuel pump. Run nothing but Sea Foam inn the tank after that is what I have done and had no more issues. Good luck and keep us posted

The stuff is the color shown in the pics. How does one empty a full tank safely? Once empty what do I use to clean it?

Well the color could also be RUST inside the tank along with the black specks which would be from inside the hose.
First you need to drain the tank, take the fuel cap off disconnect the hose from the Fuel Pump and put it in a container to hold the fuel.
If you could take the tank off that would be best. You also need to take the Float Sensor out because what you use to clean out the inside will eat away the FLOAT inside. You can use CLR that you can buy at a hardware store and fill it up and let it sit for 24 hours. While that is going on go and get good Fuel Hoses and change them all. Alleyoop

Tank will not be coming out. To get the tank out I would need to remove just about every panel on the trike and then take the radiator al all it's lines out. I am waiting for a wind free day so I can drain the tank from below. I have a set of ramps that gets the trike up about 18" I can then open the drain and catch the gas in a funnel with a hose attached and let it empty into a gas can. I do not want to do this in my garage.

Cool, If your Fuel Sensor is On top of the gas tank that makes things easier just take it out and then you can get some cleaner like CLR and almost fill the tank with it and let it sit for 24 hours. While all this is going on replace your the fuel hose with good fuel hose then drain the stuff out put sensor back in and put some fuel in the tank and give that a shot. Alleyoop
