My scooter just started this today i took it off the centerstand it died instantly wouldn't start back up, put it back on the centerstand it fires right back up take it off dies again. I take the carb off clean it check the hoses put in a new fuel filter same issue i lift the carb up from the bottom with my hand and it starts when off the centerstand, i put a piece of wood under the carb between the float bowl and engine since the 24mm carb on my 50cc hits the motor and it runs fine drove it around. Just wondering why it started doing that? Been driving it for months no issue, maybe i need to put in an intake spacer since i've been running without one, i'm guessing its flooding when the carb gets bumped since it sits on the motor, just strange it starts this after months of riding with no issues

Sounds like the carb is NOT LEVEL and the fuel level goes to one end of the bowl and goes below the jets. Alleyoop

You could have a crack in the manifold and looseing Vacuum enough not to allow fuel to be sucked in. I would take a Spray bottle of water and as it is running move the carb around a little and spray and see if it is leaking. Alleyoop

I did that already didn't seem to be leaking, so would an intake manifold spacer stop it from doing this or is there a different issue?

Well then Carb is NOT LEVEL over use the Manifold rubber part gets mushy and probably dropped the back end of the Carb Down and now the fuel level is not covering the Jets. You should be able to see if the carb is hanging down in the back. If you have bad EYEBALLS(HEHE) take a picture and I will tell you right off the bat. Alleyoop

Take a picture of the Manifold and the carb it is hard to tell at what angle it is sitting compared to the Intake manifold. Alleyoop

Come on Millsc, How can anyone tell the angle from a top shot, a side shot so you can see if the Carb is hanging down at the rear where the Air Filter is. Also I noticed your Vacuum hose connections. You should switch the Vacuum lines the PETCOCK is more important getting Vacuum than the ACV valve so switch the Vacuum lines. The Straight shot should be going to the PETCOCK and the ACV should be secondary because that only needs suction on deceleration. Alleyoop

its angled down i ordered a new manifold and spacer the straight shot is going to the petcock I think you misunderstood what I mean by Straight Shot. The VACUUM from the INTAKE should have a STRAIGHT LINE TO the PETCOCK and the BOTTOM of the "T" should go to the ACV Valve. You want the shortest and really good Vacuum going to the PETCOCK. Currently in the picture you have the ACV valve getting most of the VACUUM. Good that you noticed that the CARB is hanging down at the rear. Alleyoop
