ok that screw is not coming out, even the back out set bit was stripping it further as I turned. Its in there right. good news is i was able to swing the lid open , being very careful of the spring and take it out and there are no cracks, tears, etc. its perfect. i see what you mean about not forcing it back in and letting it drop in. it did and i closed it back up again being careful of the spring and the rubber. so it looks good, im done dealing with this for today but any more suggestions in the mean time are appreciated

The only thing is if you adjusted the A/F good is check for AIR LEAKS. Get your old Spray bottle of water and start it up and let it idle and spray individual areas. But the way it is acting I say it is either AIR leak CLAMPS on carb are not tight or Air Fitler tubeing is leaking or Air box or the A/F mixture is not right OR its your valves. Alleyoop

thanks. just did the valves. made sure clamps were super tight on carb, will check for air leaks. could a dirty air filter or air filter housing do this? the yard guys have had leaf blowers blowing crap around by my scooter. it was covered but still grass clippings would get in the area where you put your feet

Yes that would clog up things and make it run really rich which would also cause a very sluggish scoot flooding the poor thing. Alleyoop

Cool, I hope it will be just a clogged air filter restricting a lot of air. But if not we will find the cause. Alleyoop

I have been so busy that I haven't had a chance to check. I was going to do it tomorrow in the morning when it isnt so hot out ( 65 in the morning lately) but today I was asked to come in tomorrow on my day off. So now the plan is to check it the morning of my next day off. That may be Saturday, not sure, they give us our schedule like 3 days ahead sometimes Ill keep you posted though. Thanks!

Sorry I have been MIA while you have been trying to help. I have not worked on the scooter since I last posted. I have come to the decision that I am not completely, confident about the Jets being clear. I am going to acquire a guitar string and try to clean them again, but the new plan is to buy new jets, new fuel lines new fuel filter and a new gas tank and re do it all. The gas tank has so much rust from letting it sit with gas for so long that I feel im going to be unclogging jets every few days. I just need to finish up my recert and house painting deadlines before I can get back into the scoot anddd find a replacement tank and jets that fit. That's my plan for now in case anyone checks my abandoned thread here. Hope all is well with you guys
