Hi all, trying to get some help here on my Roma 150 scooter. I bought it new in 2011 and 6 months later the engine blew out (long story) and I took it back to the shop where I bought it and was told they couldn't find a motor for it? It has basically been sitting around for like 9 months now and my wife is giving me a hard time but would like to get it running. Since the shop said it was a special motor and I should be careful which one I get, I was wondering how do I get a parts list for this motor scooter or does anyone have any advise on getting a replacement motor for this bike or if it is even worth getting and just throw the thinng in the garbage like my wife says.

I don't understand why the place you bought it from cant help you???
I was looking around and it looks like it a gy6 150cc, which are very common.
But, look up mainepeace/Greg he owns a shop, or parts -for - scooters and they can tell you what you need and most likely will be able to get you one.

Check to see what motor it has on it that is the first thing. Look on the LEFT side on the case right below the CVT most scribe the motor number on there and a bunch of other numbers below it. It may be a 1P57QMJ motor or something else. Also what size wheels are on there 10", 12" 13" 16" etc. Also if it has DISK BRAKES in back or DISC. Depending on the wheel size it will help because usually there like three types Short Case Motors, and TWO long case motors one is a little longer than the other LONG case which usually will find on a scoot that has 16" wheels.
Also would be good to take some pictures of the motor VALVE cover and CVT shot and the other side by the fan side and maybe top of the motor to see if the carb mounts differently than the normal motors. Alleyoop

NO I just found it, it is a 150 MOTORCYCLE and yes the motor is special for that thing. So you need to get the number of what kind of motor is in there. From the VARIATOR to the rear wheel is very long. Alleyoop

I think it's the gy6-B- 16" but boy it's not easy finding info on these things.

Yea, but if they are bought from a online drop shipper they cannot tell you anything, BUT if bought from a mortar shop they should be able to tell you what motor is in there and able to order one. A lot of these new fangled things they come out with are out for a year or so and forget about getting parts for it after that. Alleyoop

Beachbum, Like a said, long story. Took it in to shop i bought if from to get it tuned up, gas mileage increased by 50 percent but then the engine burned up in a week.. 9 months later after waiting for them to fix the motor, decided to give up and fix it my self to make the wife happy :-) Thanks, will look up mainepeace/Greg. BTW, I thought it was a standard GY6 but will take it out to verify. Alleyoop, Thanks for the advice, will take out the motor and look up the numbers. Dave
