Just got back from a week in Tucson. The main reason was to visit my Dad who is in an assisted living facility and of course my brother who has been out there since his college days. Got to have a great talk with Shelby the owner of ScootOver, the KYMCO, Geniune and SYM dealer in Tucson. What a great shop! If you're ever in Tucson , it's worth the trip. goscootover.com/The weather was a bit chilly early in the week, but we got in a 200 mile ride in the desert on Friday. I rode my sister-in-laws Burgman 650 while my brother rode his BMW K1200LT. Of course we switched back and forth so I got to ride both. The Burgy was a joy to ride. Smooth as silk and just purrs at 80mph. Of course, if you want touring perfection, ride the Beemer. Just two words... Cruise Control. 'Nuf said.

I hope your Dad is OK Tom, I know those can be trying times. Man, that dude has quite a shop, almost as nice as yours. That's cool that he carries Enfield, you don't see many of them around. I have a friend that has the Bullet C5. It's a great looking bike but it was not approriately named. It...um...er.....well let's just say it's no Bullet :The Burgy was a joy to ride. Smooth as silk and just purrs at 80mph. Of course, if you want touring perfection, ride the Beemer. Just two words... Cruise Control. Put 'em together and you get the best of both worlds:Did you finalize the paperwork on your BMW dealership Cookees old pal? Hurry up man, I'm going to need a deal! The MSRP on those puppies has jumped to $12K +!

That's outrageous, 12K!!!
Let's see, how bad is that.
Lost in the performance accolades is that at $13,800 the BMW S1000 RR remains quite competitive with the Japanese brands.
Hmmm, Let's see which would I pick?

I would love to have a bullet. I like that one with the chrome tank. No its not a fast ride, just a ride with style.
If I wanted the performance of those 12k "scooters" I would just get a road bike. There is no way a scooter will ride at high speeds as well as a top heavy road bike. With the weight down low a scooter is going to get blown all over the road at touring speeds/
