Hi guys, I'm dealing with a 150 cc GY6 in my son's ATV. Just for clarification, is it ok if the bump on the flywheel is as in the picture posted by Alleyoop? I.e. is it ok, if the bump has passed the pickup coil, when the timing marks on the flywheel and camshaft sprocket indicate TDC?

Yes at TDC the plug has long fired, the plug fires BEFORE TOP DEAD CENTER. Alleyoop

I have seen that setup in the past , I don't know if it does any better than a typical 6 or 8 pole stator . I read a post somewhere I don't remember , the poster was disappointed with the end result no charging gain .

Thanks for this Just for curiosity, do you know how many degrees before TDC the ignition (spark) takes place?
