200cc is more than I bargained for. I am having some small issues that need to be addressed and soon.
1. I just rebuilt this engine again because I broke the timing chain and now every now and then I have puffs of smoke out of the exhaust. I am hoping this goes way when I run the engine more.
2. The NCY High Performance Alternator Kit is SH$%. It does not charge the battery at all not even so much as a trickle!!!
3. I THINK i have a little leak between the head and the cylinder. I can not tell exactly because of the shroud.
4. I THINK I need a different variator I am hearing some noises coming from it and I am not sure what the out come is going to be. I am using 17g roller weights. Anyone got any suggestions to make the variator better or suggest me a new one??

you need to lean forward on start off the little puff of smoke i think will go away as the rings seat in good i suggest going with an 11 pole stator setup to keep the battery charged up and the variator i beleive Alley will be better able to help there

MORE ROLLERS DON'T MEAN MORE FUN BROTHER.
TRY TEN OR TWELVE.
all that new stuff is gonna complain like hell getting to know each other, wait for break in to start to level things out.
and there is a alternative outcome for not letting a ring seat, you blow it cracked out

You need a 18 coil magneto for 250cc or more try the 18. Get Dr pully sliders not rollers and grease the variator white. The sound could be the clutch dirty. Your video is telling me private

I am rolling with 15 gram sliders! More top end speed and I get off the line like a bat out of hell! Lower rollers will kill your top end and off the line it slowed me down.

White SMOKE means you need to check our JETS on carb.

LUKE - Thanks Luke that was a impromptu video with the iPad. @ridecheap - I have downsized to a #122 on that Carb and it runs alright. I am not sure if that smoke is from that or something different.

People he has a modded 150 not a 250, what he did is NOT listen(sorry Gti but you did not listen) and overpaid for a NCY so called performance stator that is crap. All he really needs is a good 8 pole stator and it will charge.
These people will sell anything and or call anything a performance part just to get at your wallet. My stator and R/R are the Originals that came with the scoot over 4 years old now and charges AT 14.5 at Idle as well as at high rpms. Alleyoop

yeah that is the basics right there. i have found on scooters almost all bolt on offerings like stators and coils and bigger carps are nothing but, snake oil and lies.
I made so much more.. okay .. i made notably more power ny just porting the head and cleaning the welds on the exhaust flange and tuning the carb, getting rid of need vacuum lines and canisters and stiffening up the valve springs with double spring shims (and possibly inner springs, can't remember).
All of which really didn't cost me anything but, parts from my honda/china minibike parts pile and time.
My machinist friend put it best, "It's amazing how much power you can make by just removing metal from the right places"
