Today I had to take the 50cc Cub clone into town to get gas for the lawn tractor. Since it will be a long season of grass cutting I picked up four gallons. Nah, I didn't need to put gas in the clone, I did that last week. This darn bike has, so far, defied every stereotype of Chinese machines. It runs 45 easily on the flat. If I get into a Flat Track Tuck it will hit 50 on the level, stops well for drums front and rear and flicks around turns like it's glued to the road. With that crate on the back it's the choice for local shopping trips for my wife and I. She doesn't even hesitate to take it even though shifting is an art on it. Shift wrong and it lurches like a 75 year old drunk. Shift deliberately and it winds through the gears like butter. This thing has been stone ax reliable. In the almost four years and 2175 miles since I got it I've put in one taillight bulb, two machine screws in the pipe's heat shield and a battery after the original Chinese one died after three years. $30 from Advance Auto. A bunch of people sell them now and everyone who owns one loves it. Too bad the Chinese didn't sell these first. And yes, we named it Rocket as a tribute to its strength for its size and the speed it generates for a stone stock machine.

Yup that's some thing most of our scooters can't do.....hauling 2 gas cans and room for a sixpack or two. You will get your moneys worth out of that rocket for sure.
